ENGAGEMENT, HOW SHOULD IT BE

Warmest greetings to my beloved Steemians and friends. I must appreciate @okere-blessing for such a wonderful contest topic, it's been a very long time since I made posts in the steem4nigeria community and I'm so glad to do that right away. The organizer of this great contest has helped to ease our brains by giving us hints that would help us understand the topic easily so keep reading as I answer the questions.

The above sentence carries two heavy words that mean a lot to every man and woman as far as life is concerned. Engagement is simply a process called "agreement" between a man and a woman who are pronounced to be joined together in a soon time as a husband and wife. While a relationship is any form of togetherness or it can also be seen as the connectivity between two or more persons and it is mostly a connection between a man and a woman. Therefore, engagement in relationships is a point where a man and a woman agree to be joined together if time permits.

This is very argumentative because my suggesting year for a guy or a lady to be engaged might be a disagreement with the other. For a guy or a lady to be engaged, I advise that such a lady or a guy should be mature enough to be able to take care of a wife even if things goes bad, and for this reason, a lady should be engaged from the age of 25-above while for the guys, I am as well advising that the best age range is from 38-above.

Yes friends, for a lady or a guy who should go into a relationship, I would advise that so many things and factors should be considered so that the husband and wife would be safe in the marriage. A lot of people have gotten their marriage wrongly because they were not able to fetch out the thing to be considered and some of the things to be considered are;

In my part of the world Nigeria, immediately after engagement, it is assumed that the wedding preparation should get started between the two persons. It is a time when the two persons would become closer than ever therefore, how long an engagement before marriage should last is, months to one year.

Yes of course. I have mentioned earlier that, engagement is a period of acquaintance between two persons, courtship is the intimate moment between the man and the woman who have been engaged, and at this moment, the lady would know more about the guy and the guy would also know more about the lady.

In this period so many things might be fishing between the two of them, and that is the importance of engagement. During the courtship, things like constant misunderstanding, fights, quarrels, parents not being interested etc can make either of them change their minds. Which would lead to the end of the engagement.

Not at all. Engagement is never a guarantee for marriage in the sense that, any of them can find out something strange from their partner and decides to let it go so it is not bad to call off the engagement. Some parents might not like the union and I would always advise that once parents are against marriage, it is better to call it off because it is never a guarantee.
