Greatings friend's, i hope you're all doing good. Today, i wish to expound the much I could on table manners. I also believe that you'll enjoy reading the article as it will help most of us in avoiding certain mistakes mare while called to the table for meal, although most of us are also aquinted with it.

How to use the napkin
First, i would like to start with the napkin placement as most of us just place the napkin on their laps immediately they are served meals.

When you're called for meal, wait for the person that served the meal to first remove the napkin from the table and fold it in his or her laps.

Next, you place the napkin on your laps as you sit.

If you're temporarily leaving the table for something, just place your napkin on your chair and leave.

When done with the meal, fold your napkin and place it on the right side of your table setting.

How to hold the fork and knife

There are many ways people hold these two utensils while eating and most times it is held wrongly but let's go through how to hold them appropriately.

The fork should be held at the left hand while keeping the tines downwards. Also use your fork in lifting food to your mouth.

The knife on the other hand should be held at the right hand while keeping the index finger along the top corner of the blade

How to keep the fork during and after meal

Assuming you paused while eating, place the two utensils in a doenwards V form at the center of your plate with their tips crossing each other in an upwards direction.

After meal, place your knief and fork in a left parallel order while keeping your fork below the knife.

How to pass food

Let's also assume that you're involved in a process where food should be passed, always pass through the right.

In the case where you're to serve or probably you're offered an unsliced bread.

Do not hold or touch the bread with your fingers rather, use the cloth to hold the loaf firm before cutting.

In the process whereby the bread is not sliced, cut it and pass to your left while handing over the remaining loaf to the person on your right.

Finally, always place your bread and butter on your butter plate while keeping it on your left side.

How to sit

Always allow your host to direct you to your sit in occasions where you're a first.

Soup etiqquette

When you're served soup, always hold the end of your soupspoon handle to rest at your middle finger with your big tomb on too of the spoon.

Try to scoop sideways from the edge of the bowl and skim it away to sio the last spoonful of the spoon.

Finally after meal, always place your spoon and fork in a clockwise format with their usable ends facing the right. This indicates that you're excellently served but if on the other hand you are not satisfied, pull your knief across the fork in a downwars V shape with the handles facing you.
