Just wanted to drop a line to say hello and wish you all the Best, and I hope all are moving fine and good, it's have been a while due to i traveled to visit my cousin but never the less you all are highly welcomed to this amazing blog of mine and my promise is that you will not regret going through this Post.

Am so grateful and also happy to publish this content into this wonderful community. In this content i will like to give a full details based on what is happening in my area and the new development and I feel it would be extremely educational and very interesting.

In today's post I want to talk about the new development in my area and what it's all about.

I live in an area were there is no power supply, we can only get light through the help of solar energy or generator so that has been affecting us.
That was on the 19 April 2024, that the new elected government decided to connect for us power supply so before that the needed to build a place were the transformer will be kept, so all the works have started working all the equipment are already for the construction of the transformer.

So I will also like to us this opportunity to give some definitions on about transformer and it functions and also types of transformer.

DEFINITIONS OF TRANSFORMER

A transformer is a device that transfers electric energy from one alternating-current circuit to one or more other circuits, either increasing (stepping up) or reducing (stepping down) the voltage.

Transformer work For more than a century, the transformer (TF) has been working as an essential element in electrical power distribution systems, both for industries and businesses, as well as for homes and the transformers operate based on the concept of turns ratio. The varying number of turns in the primary and secondary coils determines whether the transformer steps up (increases) or steps down (decreases) the voltage. Step-up transformers have more turns on the secondary coil than the primary, increasing the voltage

FUNCTIONS OF AN ELECTRIC TRANSFORMER

A transformer is a machine that works using the principle of electromagnetic induction, this device allows you to increase or decrease the voltage and intensity of an electric current (alternating), but keeping the power constant.

These machines contribute a lot to the safety and efficiency of electricity distribution systems over long distances, since the best way to transport an electrical current from the power plant is in high voltage.

The problem is that this high-voltage current cannot reach homes in this way, since it would damage the entire electrical installation and the appliances connected to it, so it must be reduced to tolerable limits in order to be used in homes and businesses in a safe way.

Thus, transformers not only carry out distribution work, but also protect electric appliances.

DIFFERENT TYPE OF TRANSFORMER AND SAFETY TIPS TO BE CONSIDERED

There are various types of transformer, which also serves different functions.

1.Power Transformer.
This is one of the main and most widely used classifications of transformer and the are used to increase and decrease the voltage in the power and in the substations. They are generally operated at full load and conducting high voltages because they are designed for this, being also large and heavy due to the high level of internal insulation they have.

In general, they are not usually directly connected to houses and/or businesses.

2. Distribution Transformer.

This transformer are also called service transformers and are a type of transformer power that provides the final voltage in the electrical distribution system.

In short, they transform and deliver the current to the final consumer, whether they are homes,
businesses, etc.

3. Current Transformer.

This transformer is another type of measurement and protection TF that is used in a similar way to the voltage transformer, only that they are usually connected in series for this, providing higher levels of precision. They can provide a flow in the secondary winding similar to the flow of the primary winding.

Safety Measures to be considered when direct handling is necessary, all with the aim of avoiding accidents.

To begin with, these should meet the requirements of ISO 9001. But in any case, when you notice that your transformer performs strangely, it is best to remove it from the system to perform the respective inspection and maintenance work.

Perform a pre-installation inspection and check for a burning smell or any damaged or misplaced parts.
Keep the current input disconnected when working with transformers.
Always wear the appropriate protective equipment and carefully observe the voltage output indication of the equipment.
Make sure you know the maximum voltage of your transformers. Remember also that multiple transformers help balance the load.
Always keep small metal objects like nuts and bolts away from your transformers.
Make sure your transformer is grounded by to avoid static electricity.
Always keep your transformers and components protected from contact with water or other liquids
