INTRODUCTION

_{Hello great fellow steemians!.. Happy Valentine's Day to you my friends. It's indeed a day of love and will like to share a concept on what the day actually entails and mean. Join me and learn about it for we will get to both benefit and know the full meaning of what we know this day as. Stay tuned!}

History Of Valentine's Day

_{Valentine’s Day which is also called the St. Valentine’s Day holiday held normally on February 14, it is actually the period when lovers express their affection to themselves with greetings, gifts and many more. It has been suggested that the holiday held has origins in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia which was held around the mid-February.}

_{The festival, which included the celebration of the spring coming, the fertility rites and pairing off of women with men by lottery. It was at the end of the 5th century, A man named Pope Gelasius forbided the celebration of Lupercalia and is sometimes characterized with replacing it with St. Valentine’s Day, but the real origin of the val holiday is vague at best. Initially Valentine’s Day didn't come to be celebrated usually as a day of romance then until about the 14th century.}

_{Although there were different Christian martyrs that has the name "Valentine", the day might have taken its name from a known priest who got martyred about 270 CE by Claudius II Gothicus the emperor. To the legend's knowledge, the priest signed a letter “from your Valentine” to his daughter jailer’s, whom he had, in some way befriended and also healed from blindness.}

_{Another known legend states that St. Valentine wet ahead to defied the emperor’s orders and then secretly got to marry couples to spare their husbands from war. It is the main reason why this feast day is been associated with love. The day is mostly celebrated to mark the death anniversary of Saint Valentine who died in mid-February in 270 AD.}

What Are The Symbols Of Valentine's Day

_{The formal practice of sending out love messages later grew into people sending specially made cards which expresses their affection. Cards that are been sent out were beautiful creativity handmade by the sender and personally designed to show how much more they loved the recipient or receiver. The cards usually contain some sentimental verse, confessing the beauty of the receiver and how much they were loved.}

_{Meanwhile, Saint Valentine's Day cards were beautifully created with pictures of cupid, flowers, hearts and trimmed with lace & ribbon. And of course these images are still used today to symbolise or show love and in today's world it is mostly recognized.}

Reasons To Celebrate Valentine's Day

_{I will highlight you just three reasons we should celebrate Valentine's day, this is what happens me Celebrate mine, you could adapt it if you like.}

_{1.) It Seems To Me Like An Excuse To Dress Up & Go flexing With Friends:
Valentine's Day really don't have to be celebrated with a romantic partner or lover. Even if you're single just like me, the opportunity to grab up your crush as your own could just be one of the many reasons you should celebrate Valentine's day.}

_{2.) If You're In A Relationship, It's A Chance To Treat Your Partner:
If you're opportuned enough to be in a fun, healthy and strong relationship with a handfree partner whom you deeply love share love with. then you have a perfect reason to celebrate Valentine's Day. You really don't need to take them out or buy them gifts if the two of you are not into such, but at least having them in your life should give you a satisfied reason to feel happy on a Valentine's Day.}

_{3.) To Stay In & Relax:
If your friends plans to spend Valentine's Day with their own partners, and you don't really feel like flexing out to do what is generally known to be one of the coldest, mostly crowded days of the year, then you can stay home. And no matter what the comedies says, It's okay to be at home and enjoy your self.}

_{4. It Could Be An Excuse To Buy Yourself A Present:
You really deserve a present on a Valentine's Day which doesn't need to come from elsewhere or someone for it to be awesome. In fact, you will get to like it the more because you'll be getting just exactly what you want rather than some stuffed fluffy bear that literally serves no purpose😄. Valentine's Day is just tagged as a perfect excuse to treat yourself well.}
