Steemit Engagement Challenge S2W2 | Steem4Nigeria Contest | No place like home: Tell us why you prefer your country to any other country

Hello Lovely steemians, It is a pleasure having you all in this second week of the steemit Engagement challenge Season 2 where we are to talk about our country. My name is @chimechetam and this is my post.

INTRODUCTION

I come from a country called Nigeria. Nigeria was created in the year 1914 by Lord Lugard through the amalgamation of the Northern and southern protectorate. Nigeria Popularly known as the giant of Africa has over 200 million citizens and over 200 tribes consisting of three(3) major tribes (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba)making Nigeria one of the countries with the most diverse combination of people on earth and holds the record for the most populous black nation on earth. Nigeria comprises of 36 States and a Federal capital territory called Abuja.
Nigeria is rich in numerous Natural resources ranging from crude oil to cocoa, coal, tin, Iron ore, zinc, vast areas of cultivatable lands Amongst others. In my post, I will be stating more fun facts about Nigeria and why I love my Country

What are the great things that interest you about your country?

1.Food

Nigeria like I said in the introduction Nigeria is blessed with a lot of Natural resources which one of them is fertile, cultivatable l0and which is reflected in the coat of arm (the black shield). The various regions in Nigeria posses 0Due to the various ethnicity, Different dishes are prepared in different ways for example while everyone may eat yam the same way, The Igbo man may choose to turn his to yam to pounded-yam while the Yoruba man may decide to process his as Amala and the content may be the same but the experience is definitely very unique and different. My favorite Nigerian meal is the Nigerian jollof rice.

2.Entertainment
The entertainment sector in Nigeria is unique and has improved immensely in the pas 2 decades most especially the Music. Nollywood on the other hand is one of the biggest entertainment export in Africa and consist of most of the big names in Africa entertainment.

3.Culture
Nigeria, due to its diversity is a hub of arts and culture. The varied population consists three predominant tribes the Igbos, Yorubas, and Hausas. All these tribes and regions expresses their culture by how they cook, dress, talk, dance, and sometimes religious beliefs.
I believe these compelling and unique feature sets Nigeria apart and makes them special and colorful.
Nigerians are known for being hardworking, resilient and generally happy people capable of being natural-born jokesters and always working to complete tasks.

4.Climate
Nigeria is blessed with one of the best climate/ weather conditions in the world. We have enjoyed these climatic conditions for centuries but unfortunately Global Warming is beginning to disrupt the order if things but even at that compared to other countries experiencing the extreme aspects of global warming such as tsunamis, draught, flooding etc We are still blessed and can still boast of having one of the beast climate conditions globally that encourages both agricultural and economic stability.

Which of the things mentioned above do you prefer your country for, over other countries?

I prefer Nigeria to other countries because of the food. I am not one to boast or try to belittle anyone but the skills of the Nigerian people in the kitchen is unmatched globally as we make it look so easy and classy and most importantly, we make it healthy and fresh without the whole GMO saga.
Nigeria is blessed with a lot of varieties when it comes to food but unfortunately due to inadequate management of the agricultural sector we still have people that are yet to be exposed to the vast array of food varieties available in Nigeria

I think the entertainment sector is another reason why I prefer Nigeria to other counties Maybe not because of their movies which i most say has massively improved in the past decade. I said the entertainment majorly because of the Music industry because the Afro-beat sound is so Global now that it has become a kind of flex to identify with Nigeria when it comes to music

No Place like home: If you eventually leave your country in search of greener pastures, would you be willing to come back because of your response in (3).

In all sincerity I will not be willing to return to Nigeria because of the Food. I will definitely be returning because of my family and loved ones if it is not possible for them to visit and the reason being that most of the food stuffs could easily be exported and maybe cultivated from wherever I am. I tend to pride myself as being target driven an will definitely strive to ensure that the essence of my travel is achieved before even thinking of returning. This does not in anyway change the fact that I LOVE NIGERIA
