Leisure Time

Leisure is one word that has meant different things to different people and this may be because of how it's done or the environment where it is done. Let's look at some of the simple hints given.

In your own words and from your opinion, what do you think the word leisure time means?

I will be using some form of illustration to explain my understanding of the topic of leisure. Man's quest to break even and make ends meet has driven so much to labor with little time for rest. But one thing we won't fail to acknowledge is the fact that there is time for rest.

It does not matter how this rest is done but the ultimate thing is that there should be break time and leisure time for the body to have a bit of reset. This reset will bring about good health balance and stress management. All this amounts to leisure.

The break time could be our leisure hour. People who find it difficult to have extraordinary leisure hours are known to make the best of their breakdown. They quickly have a chat, sit out with friends, and also have mild refreshment that settles the workday stress load.

Others create appropriate time to rest their body. They make theirs through vacations, picnics, parties, etc. These make them create satisfaction that removes all stressful anxiety from their system.

In summary, the term leisure refers to those moments when we try to release our body from stressful behaviors. A moment created outside our usually task-filled days. A time spent alone or in the company of others to create a balance between our work life and lifestyle.

What category of persons do you fall in from the short description I gave in my introduction? The first category or second? And why do you think so?

At present, I can't find myself in any of those categories. May be a little mix of working almost all through and and also leisure too. Motherhood has kept me on my toes from Monday till Friday handling school run and with weekends mostly not enough to handle chores and meals for the coming week.

Some weekends especially sunday do turn out to be leisure time for me. This is usually when we have child visitation or dedication events to attend. It presents me a time to unwind and chat out my busy and stressful mind with other attendees.

Do you have a set-aside time for leisure? If yes tell us about it and if no, then tell us why.

From my explanation above, it simply means I don't have any set-aside time for leisure. There is no specific reason for this but if I may look back on my previous lifestyle, I will say it is all about motherhood. It engages me so much that there is no specific time for leisure rather I enjoy it to the fullest anytime it crosses my way.

What activities do you do in your leisure time?

My leisure time is filled with some of these activities that make it fun. Some of these include ;

• Discussing and Laughing with friends
• Eating
• Drinking, especially nonalcoholic drinks.
• Playing with the kids
• Seeing Movies

In Conclusion, leisure time is necessary in everyone's life. They are like circuit breakers that remove stress and hangovers from our shoulders. This is my entry, thank you.
