The Diary Game || 29-1-24 || Far From Home Day 1 - First Examination This Year

Dear Diary,

It was a Monday morning, a Monday to start the week. I was undoubtedly happy this semester on campus would be rounding off in 2 weeks with an examination. The fear of writing an exams to get a better grade wasn't my kind of life anymore. The confidence was just there. I had to leave home to a friend's house close to campus so as to tutor my friends and prepare them well for all the upcoming examination.

Asides offering to help, my main aim was to **read in school at night during this period as there's no light in my area at night for over a week now and also cost of transportation was considered. I had to be far from home to achieve a lot of things. I'll be giving details of my moments Far from home starting now till Friday.

Morning Activities

Preparations were made the night before. So I woke up early as 3Am to do a quick revision on the course I'll be having exams that Monday Afternoon. The exams was to commence by 3Pm - 5pm. I still had enough time but I had to take my bags to my friend's place that morning to keep before entering school to do the needful. The cold air held my breath and did a lot of work on my mouth. On reaching campus, I left the bag in his house and entered campus. My phone was down for the first time on a Monday morning.

I wasn't myself as I felt disconnected from the world. On reaching school, I reached out to power my phone that morning. While waiting for it to charge, my coursemates trooped in one with her instructional package project to submit and the other, a friend of mine. We revised together and during our chats, she made mention of a result right in from of me. I had no idea such result was released.

I wasn't moved as I was expecting an A since it was an IT project. In no time, the venue was announced of which we ran into to secure seats in front. On reaching, we were told to sit in pairs of which we did. The exams didn't commence immediately so we had to wait for a long time before the Lecturer brought in questions. While waiting, we did converse and I'll show you different types of students before an examination

The carefree and Lousy one. They talk and display drama before exams
The prayer warriors. Their own is to bend their head and commit the exams into God's hands
The zero minded ones. Anyhow the exams would be, they'll still write it.
The slays with copying intention. Their brain is hot and they are like; "If I call you during the exams and you don't answer me, I'll stab you with this pen. Both of us will leave the hall
The brains behind. They are always in group refreshing their memory
The over Sabi. They claim they know too much and they attract crowd to themselves
Those who check results of previous set to have hope

These are the various types of people before an examination. The examination later kickstart in no time. We were given clear instructions on how to make it a successful one. The exams was to last for 2 hours. When we saw the question paper, we were all in disbelief as we were expecting , theoretical questions. The exams came out 43 subjectives. I wrote it no doubt as it was simple but tough a bit.

After the exams, many rushed to submit as they were given deadline in minutes. As they submitted, I took to capturing the moments on how different types of people wrote this exams

The intelligent and selfish ones. These ones know very well but they won't allow their seat partners copy from them. They'll place their bodies as a barrier and they don't like disturbance
The stingy ones. They won't make it obvious to many that they aren't helping but they'll fold their papers in a way that their seat partners can't copy.
The intelligent and generous. They know very well and don't hide their answers in exams hall. They ensure they help the majority by just opening their book. They don't ask questions or talk
The photocopiers. They write every word and their necks are far from fetch. They ensure they outsmart their invigilators as well. They were in essence Invigilating the invigilators.
The ceiling lookers. There's always one person that would do this to remember
The pen cover chewers. Since they barely know, they'll begin biting their pens and waiting for answers to fall like Manna.
Those who forgot what they read

After the exams, a lot of people mourn the exams while some didn't put it in mind. I went outside and saw another set of people entering to start their exams as shown below. I encountered one of my friends back then in year 1 who usually give me updates. I took pictures with him as it was quite a while.

After capturing these beautiful moments, I left for my friend's place with @whizzbro4eva who came to help us mourn. It was a pleasure walking with him as I learnt a lot. We shared memories and laughed. I then came across @mosesstones who was there to sign a form. On my way back home, I saw some group of students in black. Whizzy told me there was a procession that happened in school.

**A 300 level student died. I was shocked to see the picture of the dead man. Very young. This put almost everyone in disbelief as to what caused it. It was a trend on Facebook social media. I felt bad as well. They were returning from the procession. I also met some freshers who had a match to play, department by department..

On returning to my friend's house, whizzy and I did some coverage before parting ways. Ohkay, the big bag behind shows I'm back to school. I also captured the main bridge and sunset. Before parting ways, @uduak3287 was spotted and he came no doubt to show us love.

I left them for my friend's house and then bought some snacks to use as appetizer for the main meal at night. When I got to his house, I was welcomed no doubt. I slept until it was time to leave for campus. I got to campus at night and entered the cafeteria to still buy some light meal so I won't sleep off in the course of reading. This is how my school cafeteria is like although it was very much dark.

I took pictures of other places and the lecture hall I wanted using to read. Everywhere was lighted up and I captured the number of students present to read. The hall was filled. Majority came there to read while others came in to charge phones and play games. I went out on a stretch for the first time. I didn't wink till 6:30Am. It was surprising to me though but not totally surprising because I love reading in a lousy place, a place there's enough noise. This place will chase sleep. My friends slept and I was their watch.

I worked majorly on answering past questions as I was done reading the material. I used songs to chase away sleep. _This is my diary, my first examination for the year. I read like my life depended on it in preparation for the second which we wrote today. It was bloody. I'll spell out the narrative in my next post.
