My advice to newbies on steemit
created using canva app
Each passing day, there must be an introductory post by a newbie here on steemit indicating that the masses are informed. Newbies on this platform may have joined for reasons best known to them. It's not uncommon that some newbies have challenges completing achievement 1 and to this challenge, they abandon the platform thinking it's no use.
I saw this in the case of some newbies who did their achievement 1 some weeks ago. Many newbies see huge votes on other people's post and see minimal votes on theirs. Most of them get discouraged and leave the platform. Are there remedies to such? If you're a newbie and you're reading this post, put every words of advice into practice and see how you make waves on this platform.
I'll hereby mention these newbies to go through this post @nasir04, @polash123 and @hasntahmad...
What is your general advice for all steemian including newbie considering the current market condition? |
---|
My general advice for all steemians including newbie on the current market condition is that they should never give up hope. It's normal to have that feeling when there's a drastic change. Imagine you opened a boutique and the first two weeks after opening, you had lots of sales.
After two weeks of opening, you had less sales unlike before, probably two to three sales a day compared to those days you had minimum of 50 sales on a daily basis. Would the decrease in sales prompt you to close down your boutique and look for something else? Definitely not. Same with steemit.
The market isn't friendly doesn't mean we should power down. We just have to keep on writing with hope that someday, the market would be friendly.
What can help you?
- Manage your time. Don't really base your source of income on steemit if you're a newbie compared to others.
- Create contents and interact as if you're chatting on Facebook.
- Build your blog so as to earn votes from curators.
- Be patient and hopeful
Do you advise newbies to complete their achievement tasks |
---|
Yes I do because completing one's achievement task gives one a broader understanding of the platform in general although not mandatory but reasonable to. These achievement tasks contains step-to-step guide on how to function properly on the platform and make your blogging life interesting.
What community do you advice them to begin with so they can easily get familiarized with the operation of steemit? |
---|
I'll advise they start with the newcomers community so that they'll get to know how steemit operates. Newcomer community is a growth and development ground every successful steemian need to pass through. Some days back, I noticed some newbies who started posting in other communities without even doing Introductory post.
Let me also point something out. If you want to be a successful steemian and you're posting twice a month, you're definitely wrong. Most newbies relax after doing their Achievement 1 post. Most of them abandon the platform after Introductory post. It's consistency that's the hidden driver to every steemians success on steemit.
- Focus on completing your achievement tasks
- Read community rules before posting
- Don't plagiarise ❌❌
- Don't crosspost
- Know how to use tags
- Markdown styles in achievement 4 will help you know how to arrange your work in a presentable form.
Should they expect big votes from the curators immediately they begin their journey and why? |
---|
They shouldn't expect huge votes immediately as a newbie. You can't just open a business and expect millions at the start. It is not uncommon for new users on Steemit to receive small votes from curators when they first start posting. However, it is not realistic to expect to receive large votes from curators immediately. As a new user, it may take some time to build up your reputation and produce high-quality content that meets these standards.
What personal experience do you have that you wish to share with them that can encourage them on their journey on steemit? |
---|
I'll not go into details as I don't want this post to be lengthy. When I joined steemit, I was subject to discouragement as what I expected wasn't what I saw. I made 10 posts with no single vote on it. I was discouraged and left the platform twice as I was a novice back then. Coming back knowledgeable spur me up. Consistently, I create contents, join contests and earn votes from curators..... This shows then and now.
It's important to stay motivated and have fun while you're building your presence on the platform.
