Is Patience Still A Virtue ????

These are some popular quotes we do believe when we were young especially the first. Patience is a quality that affects all aspects of our lives and it's very essential in living. Without patience, we won't be able to do a lot of things. In fact, many would have died because of lack of patience. What do I mean by my words?

I'm a patient person now because I've been molded by bible principles which makes me understand what being patient is and why it is important. I've also seen first-hand the good sides of being patient and the consequences of being impatient. In everyday life, we need patience to lead, teach, grow and do a lot of life activities of which I'm doing it perfectly well because I'm patient.

My being patient has made me possess lot of qualities that has helped me in life. One of such is humility. You can't be humble if you're not patient in some situations. Another is love and mildness. When I'm patient, I tend to show love and consideration to other people's feelings and interests and I tend to do things mildly especially when teachingnewbies on steemit. They say I'm the best mentor because of how I teach online. I teach with patience and love.

I learnt this quality from my creator who happens to be the greatest personality showing this quality. Just imagine you have children that are stubborn, wicked, insolent and children that do every vile things. Will you allow them to continue living in your house for more than 30 days? Definitely not. But God has tolerated the sins of the wicked in the world, patiently waiting to see them change instead of bringing destruction on them as he wants all to be save

What a great display of patience! I learnt from the best and indeed I'm patient now compared to before where I don't wait for food to be done because of impatience.

Before talking about the importance of benefits, I'll love to spell out what patience is and what causes one to be impatient. Patience is a virtuous quality that involves the ability to wait, tolerate, and move on when under suffering and trials without losing hope, becoming annoyed or anxious as the case may be.
The opposite of patience is impatience.. Situations that makes us become impatient are;

• Waiting for food to be done.
• Standing in a long queue
• Waiting for rain to subside
• Waiting for our salaries

• Waiting for the traffic light
• Teaching a slow learner etc. This particular one can be very tempting. It can make us lose our patience and make us do things we wouldn't want to do.

In today's world, some view patience as a weakness rather than strength but it's known that patience is a virtue. Is it still a virtue? A patient person is described as one who is slow to anger and strive to face challenges without complaining. Patience is the greatest of virtue. Today many lack patience because we live in a fast pace world that emphasises instant gratification. Some analyst observed that many are less patient because of technology. Many people do not even take the time to proofread what they are writing because they don't have patience. They even use short cut because they don't have the patience to write full text messages. Many don't have the patience to read through lengthy texts. Impatience leads to anger and frustration. When we are patient, we safeguard our health. When someone isn't patient, the person will have hypertension and more stressful situations. A researcher found at that impatient individuals are more likely to be obsessed than someone who are patient. It can also help us make better decisions. A wise man once said "The plans of the diligent surely leads to success but those who are hasty surely head for poverty.

The importance of patience is that;

• It helps build a close relationship or friendship with others. When you're impatient in everything, you lose your temper and may say words that hurt your friends which may scatter the friendship in most cases. But with patience, you can tolerate anything and even patiently wait for the right time to speak so as not to lose your temper.

• Being patient can contribute to a happy family life. If patience is employed in the family by each and every individual , the family would be happy. Parents being patient with their children and children being patient with their parents in terms of responsibilities.

• Patience can help us avoid bad traits and thoughts that may come as a result of being impatient

When it's said you should be patient, it doesn't say you shouldn't be smart especially when standing in a dragging queue that everyone wants to be first. I can remember two occasions when I lost my patience and that was in school.

We were told **if we don't write out exams that day, we would fail the course and carry it over and it was CBT based with not enough facilities. All that was done was struggling to enter with no patience. People behind wants the people in front to go back so they'll enter first. Fear made me struggle even to the extent of pushing someone to the floor and take his space so that I'll enter and write. I could say I was impatient. Last last, people that didn't write that day were told to come back the next day.

I'll not say I was being impatient in struggling but to push someone who was in front of me to enter first was what brought about the impatience. I also lost my patience when teaching a slow learner on steemit. I had to snobb the person for days so he'll learn to absorb things fast. This wasn't good at all and I learnt to control such from happening when teaching.

Pressing your phone especially while in a queue. This is what I use to keep myself from when waiting. If you're just idle, you can be mad with impatience

Not being quick to take offence in everything. There are things that must be overlooked and things that shouldn't. Overlooking some minors can increase patience

Practice sessions can help as well as increasing patience isn't done overnight. It needs time

In conclusion, the patient Dog does eat the fastest bone but it depends on what the patient Dog did while waiting and not just the wait.
