I must say that I am very happy being here though I know it has been a while since my last post in this community but I am very happy to be back once again.
Glory be to God we are into the 6th week of the engagement challenge and I am very happy writing about this interesting topic.
Tell us about your country
First of all I am proudly a Nigerian 🇳🇬 from the eastern part fo the country which is the Igbo I am very proud to be an Igbo man and also a Nigerian.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 is an African country located in the West Africa and it lies at the extreme corner of the Gulf of Guinea.
Nigeria is a blessed country filled with abundant natural resources.
Nigeria is bounded in the north by Niger Republic, in the east by the republic of Cameroon and in the west by the republic of Benin.
Nigeria gain her independence on the 1st of October 1960 and became a republic on the 1st of October 1963.
Nigeria 🇳🇬 Is blessed with natural resources like coal, timber, crude oil, rubber and limestone.
The country has 36 states and the calital of Nigeria is Abuja. Nigeria has 774 local government areas different tribes and languages.
Nigeria was named by flora shaw the wife of lord lugard, before Nigeria was called Niger Area before she named it Nigeria 🇳🇬.
The motto of my country Nigeria 🇳🇬 is unity and faith, peace and progress.
Nigeria have 2 main rivers which are the River Niger and River Benue.
Other rivers also exist in Nigeria and most of which flow to the Gulf of Guinea. These include Cross River, Imo, Ogun and oshun, strangely the yobe river flows into lake cahsd to drain the North.
They are 2 well defined seasons in Nigeria which is the rainy and dry season.
The rainy season begins in the earnest from April in the southern part of the country and last till October but starting later and ending earlier in the North infact there is a place in the North that experience rainfall sometimes 3 times in a year and you will wonder if they are from Nigeria 🇳🇬.
The dry season on the other hand, begins in November and last till March in the south. In the North, the rainy season sets in late sometimes delaying up till June, in the North where extreme temperature is experienced the atmosphere is dry.
Nigeria has 248 ethnic groups.
The three main ethnic group are the Yorubas the Hausas and the Igbos which are the 3 main languages in Nigeria.
There is also the harmattan which blows from the North to the South, causing extreme dryness and discomfort to the skin and it's commonly experience from November to January and sometimes till February.
The location of Nigeria exposed her to both European and Arab influences, this location affect the type of occupation and crops grown by the people. The many rivers provide fertile basins for farming and attract settlement.
The two most practice religion Nigeria is the Christianity and the Islamic religion.
Christianity came into Nigeria in the 15 century true the agustinian capuchin monks of Portugal.
This missionaries converted many Nigerians from there traditional froms of religio to Christian ways of life and belief, the idea of one God fostered unity and brought the people of different traditional religious together.
The missionaries also contributed to the medical well being of individuals by by establishing hospitals, maternity homes and clinics.
They also made education their priority, they taught people how to read and write and also how to read and write and to speak good english, English language open to Nigeria the way to learning about the modern world.
They also build primary, secondary and teachers training colleges.
On the other hand Islamic religion was introduced to Nigeria from north Africa and it was mainly spread through the movement of nomadic groups, particularly the Fulani in search of pasture for ther cattle.
Both trade and Islam combined together to change the political, social, educational economic lives of people of northern nigeria and part of the south. Islam and trade brought the people of Nigeria face to face with foreigners, this external influence help the Nigerian people to expand their own scope in trade, Islam, culture and agriculture with the rest of the world, especially North Africa and the Middle East.
Nigeria is considered the most populated and richest country in Africa.
Why do you think your country is unique
Nigeria is a very unique country and I am very happy to be a Nigerian.
Nigeria is unique because we are blessed with abundant natural resources and we are the richest country in Africa and as such we are nickname the Giant of Africa.
Other countries experience natural disaster like earthquake, hurricane etc. But here in Nigeria we don't witness such natural disaster and I am very proud of that.
Nigeria are very popular all around the world because we are very talented, if you look at the music industry we are increasing the reputation of our country as we have some of the best musicians and also the best afro beat musician like Davido who performed at the world cup ceremony held in Qatar, Burna Boy who performed at the champions league final held in instabul the Capita of Turkey and also Wizkid etc we have many talented individuals.
Would you live your country to settle in another in an opportunity shows up
For this I will say no because I am living in very happy and peaceful in my country and happiness is everything that matters in this life.
Like here in my country I can move freely without anyone questioning me because I have known my right as a citizen unlike when you are in another man's country you will not fell free the way you will in your country.
Racism is something that is always happening to we the back whenever we are in another man's country, I have seen a situation where people are racially abused because of their skin color they will call them monkey and the rest, they will treat them as if they aren't humans.
So I want to avoid any racial abuse, and I will proudly say that I will stay and enjoy my country Nigeria 🇳🇬.
What area of your country will you love to see and improvement
The are I will love to see an improvement is the educational aspect of my country, I will want our government to try and improve the educational aspect of my country because it's gradually going down.
I will also love to see and improvement in the economic situation of my country, people are suffering so I will want our government to try and reduce the price of goods and services.
I will also love the government to create Job opportunity for the youth so as the reduce the rate of unemployment that may later lead to kidnapping, armed robbery, internet fraud etc.
