My Neighbourhood Watch #33 - Reporting Events Around us | Celebrating West Aftican Social Activities
This is a yearly event in our barracks where soldiers and their families and also people who are invited come together to have fun once in every year.
As humans, they must be the latest happenings in our area, I mean something going on around our axis and sharing it with steeminans will be a very good idea, thanks to @xkool24 for constantly giving us the opportunity by hosting this wonderful weekly contest.
This is a time of jubilation in my area and I am very happy to share it here on this steemit and tell you about this special evert in my area.
As a community inside the barracks every January, we host a special celebration to enjoy ourselves by organising West Aftican Social Activities, infact this is a culture of the military in every military base this special event is always celebrated and if you're living close to any military base I an sure you know what I am talking about.
This year's celebration came urgently, and we weren't prepared for it. Our commanding officer just told us that we all should prepare ourselves for this year's WASA celebration.
Normally tribes are given the opportunity to showcase their culture and traditions, dancing, and other activities.
But because it came urgent, only the three main ethnic groups, which are the Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, with the tiv that were given the opportunity to showcase their traditions.
The Igbos, hausas and tivs dancing
They were lots of fun events at the celebration celebration, and I really enjoyed myself as I was well entertained.
The occasion began with prayer and other activities followed, dancing by different four different tribes and also, children were given the opportunity to act drama.
I enjoyed watching the children drama as it taught me about life
The highlight of the event was a tog of war between the female soldiers and female copers living in our barracks.
Could you believe that the female copers defeated the female soldiers, I was very surprised to witness such happen.
Imagine covers defeating soldering in a tog of war. After the event, our commanding officer gave them a punishment because he was ashamed of their performance.
The female copers Celebrating their victory over the soldiers
Kudos to the female copers for defeating the female soldiers, but that wasn't the case when the male soldiers and copers contested in the tog of war.
As expected, the male soldiers defeated the male copers with ease.
It was a very joyful event as I enjoyed every moment of that celebration, this year's celebration was very joyful and entertaining.
At the end of the event, refreshments were shared with everyone, and we all went home happily.
I am using this opportunity to invite @josepha, @pandora2010, @pahoglas, and @radleking to join me and participate in this wonderful contest.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
Oh What a massive event! It's the refreshments part for me, I mean what is the essence of having a big celebration and then item 7 is lacking...lols. Anyways don't see like a foodie, but you know food is important 🤪. Thanks for sharing.
