THE KEY LIES IN SIMPLICITY

in Steem4Nigeria2 years ago (edited)

Each person defines what it means to live simply differently. In my opinion, it entails getting rid of everything but the bare necessities, choosing calm over chaos, and devoting your time to the things that are significant to you.

In order to have more time for the people and activities you love, it requires letting go of many of your current habits. Getting rid of the excess means keeping only what is necessary for you. However, attaining simplicity is not always easy. It's a journey, not a destination, and parts of the journey may frequently involve moving backward and forward twice. If you want to simplify your life, this is a great place to start. If not, carry on.

Put an end to everything else and choose what matters most to you. Of course, until you can comprehend how to apply that to numerous aspects of your life, it's not very helpful, so I give you the Long List. Although there isn't a how-to guide for simplifying your life, I've put together a smattering of ideas that should be useful to anyone seeking a simple life. Since not all of it will be helpful to you, pick the advice that you find appealing and applicable to your life.

Remember that this list will be criticized for being overly complicated, especially in light of the numerous connections it contains. Don't stress yourself out too much. Simply pick one at a time, and focus on it. After that is complete, pay attention to the subsequent action.

List the top four or five priorities you have. What is most important to you? What are your core principles? What are your top four goals for the future? Simplifying starts with these goals as you work to make space in your life to give yourself more time for them.

Steps

Consider your obligations carefully. Look at everything you are doing at this moment. everything, including jobs, homes, involvement in the community, involvement with children's activities, hobbies, side businesses, and other activities. Think about which of these activities you enjoy and which ones add value to you. Which one of these fits the bill for the top four priorities you listed earlier? Throw out any that don't go with the others.

Make a time inventory. How do you spend your days? From the moment you get up till you go to bed, what do you do? Make a list, then evaluate its contents to see if it aligns with your priorities. If not, get rid of the extra items and pay attention to the ones that are crucial. Rearrange your schedule.

Organize your day at work. We are constantly faced with tasks to complete during the workday. If you simply try to check everything off your to-do list, you won't ever finish it, and worse yet, you won't ever finish the important things. Focus on the tasks that matter the most, and ignore the rest.

Make household chores easier. Take that into account for everything you do at home. Sometimes, our home to-do list is even longer than our work list. We won't ever finish it, either. Therefore, put your attention on what's most important and look for ways to complete the less important tasks (automate, eliminate, delegate, or hire help).

Avoid talking too much. In today's world, we are constantly communicating with one another via email, instant messaging, mobile phones, print mail, Skype, Twitter, forums, and other means. It could take up your entire day if you let it. Set limitations on your communications instead: only send emails during specific times and for a certain number of minutes each day (I recommend twice a day, but do what works for you). Only use instant messaging (IM) once daily for a short time. Additionally, just like with any other type of communication, set aside particular periods for phone conversations. Create a schedule, then follow it.

Media usage should be moderated. Don't read this advice if you value media consumption because it won't apply to everyone (as with any of the other tips). The media that is already a part of our lives, like television, radio, the internet, publications, etc., in my opinion, has the power to seize control. Put an end to it. Limiting it will make your life easier and reduce the amount of information you consume. Consider a quick media.

De-clutter your home. Spending a weekend purging the things you don't need is a wonderful feeling. Collect boxes and trash bags for the items you want to donate or discard. This is my organizing manual. Here's some advice on how to make a modest start.

Take the large items away. Although there is a lot of small clutter in our lives, if you start with the important things, your life will be significantly and quickly simplified.

Put your rooms in order. Take your time going through each room, clearing out anything unnecessary. Take on the role of a newspaper editor by eliminating everything but the bare minimum.

Organize your closets and drawers. Focus on the closet shelves and drawers after you've cleaned the major areas of your rooms.

Make your clothing more basic. Do you have a stuffed closet? Are your dresser drawers—not the ones holding your underwear—so jam-packed they won't close? To simplify your wardrobe, get rid of anything you never wear. To create a modest outfit, concentrate on simple patterns and a few complementary, uncomplicated hues.

Streamline how you use the computer. If you struggle with having too many files and being unorganized all the time, think about using internet computing. It might greatly simplify matters. Go on reading.

Keep your spending in check. If materialism and consumerism have imprisoned you, there are ways to break free. Even though I haven't completely shunned these things, I feel much more liberated from them now that I've gone there. If you can get rid of materialism, you might start buying less things. And that will mean less stuff, money, and craziness.

Do what you love. Make sure to complete the activities you enjoy when you have free time. the first four or five items on your list again. Just adhere to those instructions.

Spend some time alone. Check out this list of things to do to carve out alone time for yourself. Even though some people find it uncomfortable, spending time by yourself is healthy for you. It might take some effort to make room for your inner voice and get used to the silence. Although it might appear new-age, it is actually quite calming. And you require this solitude to discover what is most important to you.

Eating slowly Not only will you miss out on the meal's delicious flavor, but cramming food down your throat is not a good eating habit. Slow down to lose weight, improve digestion, and have more fun in life.

Driving with caution. Most motorists slam into traffic, honking in rage, frustration, and stress. while endangering others as well as themselves. Driving more slowly may not only make you safer, but it can also be incredibly quiet and fuel-efficient.

Try these out, and you'll thank me later. Many thanks
