Greetings my lovely steemians. I hope you all are doing well. It's the 5th week of steemit engagement challenge season 12 with the topic "My skills takes me up" It's going to be an amazing contest.
In your opinion, what do you think a skill is? |

Skills can be defined as the learned or acquired ability that open doors for individual to perform numerous tasks or engage in different activities effectively. One can have effective skills through learning or training. Skills acquired by individual depends on one's capability and future goals.
In your country, is a skill or skills needed for daily survival, or is not needed? |

Life in my country is very challenging and difficult, so I'll say that skills is needed to survive in my country, Nigeria. Why I'm i saying this?
Here in Nigeria, we have so many graduates seeking for jobs in so many companies and industries, but to no avail. Talking about the industry itself, i don't know why Nigerian government are finding it difficult to establish numerous industries for our youths. Our youths now are getting wise, because most of them acquire one or two skills before going for education, so that when they graduate, they'll be self-employed. So skills is needed in my country for daily survival.
Tell us some skills in your country that are so resourceful. |

We have so many resourceful skills in my country, but I'll mention few.
- Agricultural skills
- Teaching skills
- Construction
Agricultural skills
This is the most popular skill practiced by Nigerians. Due to the present economy of the country, we can't fold our hands and watch government in order to survive daily. Back then, it was women who practically did the farming work, but now, even men do them in order to survive.
Teaching skills
If you're good in a particular subject like mathematics or English, which most people find it difficult to understand, people here in my country makes money from this particular skills. Most at times, they conduct online tutoring for flexibility.
Construction
Government do complain there's no money for the youths, but they're building houses all over the State. Our youths acquire the construction skills, use the skills for their daily survival. Most of them work as labourers, while other work as bricklayers.

(At the office learning)
I already acquired architectural/building skills when i was 19. That's a very good skills one can acquire to make money. I make money from this skills because i have many clients i work for.
(At the site)
Most of our kind are not good in site inspection, since i have the skills to do that, I'm always wanted by many people. This is one of my client's building, work is ongoing. It's a profitable skill.
Even with this, having just a skill in my country can't guarantee your daily survival, you have to attach another to make it work.
Another skill i want to acquire is freelancing skills, working as a content creator. When @bossj23 told me about steemit, i didn't want to think about it before joining, I joined with passion, because it has always be my dream to stay indoor and make some money. Why do i want such a skill? Simply because it's flexible, i can stay anywhere and make my money, so far i have internet connection.

Yeah, architectural skill is really good, ones you know that you have learnt your work very well, you just have to pray to the almighty to bring you a good connection of a site where you can work one.

I never knew that youhad an architectural skill, you indeed made a good choice there. I also agree with you that having one skill doesn't really guarantee survival in Nigeria.
Your second choice of taking up the skill of freelancing is beneficial both educationally and financially. We appreciate Dan Larimer and Nedd Scott for this platform.
