Hello frriends and welcome.

Have you heard that saying that there’s no place like home? It’s true.

What is your definition of "Home"

A home is a place where we feel loved, cherish and welcomed. Where we have peace and are not walking on egg shells. Where we rest, relax and live with our loved ones. It’s a place of togetherness bounded by love, care and understanding.

It’s where we are accepted, corrected in love, groomed and cared for. It’s a place where we are celebrated and not tolerated. It’s family and all the beautiful things it entails.

Have you been away from home, Where exactly was it?

I have been away from home couple of times, Infact if not most of my life. I left home very early. As early as ten years old. I left home for a boarding house when I entered secondary school to do my secondary school.

I lived in the boarding house all through my secondary school years. I was a visitor to our house, only during short school breaks and long time breaks. The rest of the six years was lived in the dormitory.

Then after my junior secondary school, I went to stay with my Aunty in Lagos for the holidays for about two months and mater came back for my senior secondary school.

After my secondary school, Inleft home again for my tertiary studies in another state and so stayed there for many years only visiting home once in a while and since then, I’ve been away from home.

Am currently away from home in a far way land working. I miss my home so much but I guess it’s one of those things adulthood entails.

What was your experience like...interesting, boring, maltreated, loved etc...Kindly share with us.

All the times I’ve been away from home, my experiences has been good. During my school days of living in the dormitory, of course it was a survival of the first but the school management made it easier for us by doing their necessary best which of course cannot be the same with when you are at home but they ensured we had a conducive atmosphere.

They fought against bullying hence we the students with smaller stature weren’t really bullied. We had a fairly conducive atmosphere to learn away from home.

When I went to visit my aunt, she was kind to me and didn’t maltreat me even though we will never get the same treatment as the kids and that’s understandable.

When I was in tertiary institutions, Inhad roommates and we lived more like sisters. We had one or two quarrels ofcourse we are ladies and there must be quarrels. And right where I am, am ok, so my tale away from home has been nice and fair.

If you're given another opportunity to be away from home to the same place you visited, would you go? Give us reasons.

I’d say I would go of am given the opportunity to visit same places I had been away from home because the people I encountered were nice to me. I have stories of people been wicked to the people who come to stay with them when they are away from home but that wasn’t my experience. Hence I’d go again if I had the opportunity to.

In conclusion, I’d say that my experience away from home has been other homes away from home even though there’s no place like home.
