My Neighborhood Watch #42 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings and welcome.

It’s a beautiful day even though I didn’t sleep Well last night but I woke up enthusiastic and today I had some activities which carried me outside and I decided to cover some events happening around. I went out in the afternoon to the market and there’s usually a very busy junction were kekes and buses load daily.

Today they are there doing their business even though it seem a little scanty may be because it’s still afternoon. On a normal evening or early in the morning, it’s usually very busy and crowded. I usually pass this junction on my way to the popular Bariga market.

When I got to the market, a company was doing a marketing promo of their brand and I got a shot of that too. It’s a company that’s into production of female sanitary pad called wonder girl. They had their speakers and sales agent around with the products they were marketing under a yellow canopy. The marketers were wearing a yellow T-shirt and the product colour too is yellow.

On entering the market, I noticed the market was unusually dry. Everywhere seem very scanty. Maybe because it’s afternoon but there weren’t much people just mostly the traders and some are even sleeping maybe due to the scantiness. I wanted to buy something from one that was seriously sleeping, had to leave her to go to another shop.

The rate at which things have become very expensive is very alarming. I went to buy chicken only for me to scream when I was told the price of chicken. The last time I bought chicken was two months ago and it was about 3600 naira for a kilo. Now the kilo of kitchen is 5000 naira and the woman was even telling me it had come down that it was 5500 last week.

I had to buy half kilo and that’s that thing in the picture and it’s for 2500. I don’t know what our country is turning into but the prices of things have really escalated. I went to the market with 5000 naira and came back with only half kilo of chicken and plantain.
