How important is punctuality to you?
Greetings my lovely people. My warm regards to you and hope you’re having a good time. Am glad to be here and to participate in this beautiful contest. Thank you to @sahmie for this opportunity to discuss this all time important and never to be said to be over emphasized topic of punctuality.
WHAT PUNCTUALITY IS TO ME. |
---|
Punctuality to me is an art of always being on time. I said it’s an art because an art is like a skill one acquires. Nobody is born punctual. It’s a character trait we all acquire as we grow up either to be someone who is always punctual or to be a perpetual late comer. So when a person is always on time to meetings, the person is said to be a punctual person.
SOME IMPORTANCE OF BEING PUNCTUAL. |
---|
Being punctual has some benefits and what it portrays about us as human and some of them includes:
- Punctuality basically shows maturity in character and it’s a strong sign of being responsible .A man’s character is simply the man. Someone who is always punctual to meetings show that he has dealt with a part of his personality and that he is responsible and stable and can be trusted with responsibilities and be trusted to be there to deliver on time. A man who is never on time cannot be trusted to handle certain sensitive responsibilities because he will definitely spoil it with his indiscipline with time. Therefore punctuality is a strong sign of discipline.
- Being punctual enables one to be a full participant of the meeting and therefore reaping all the benefits there is without been left behind. When you are in a meeting on time and follow through all the procedures, you won’t be lacking of vital information given and you would be a full participant in the meeting. One who always comes late will always be wondering what was said or what he missed and may never get the full first hand information to his or her detriment. The late comer make even lose out of any special benefits that he would have enjoyed if he had come an earlier.
- Punctuality makes us understand the essence and value of time and how to manage it well and hence succeed in life. Every successful man understands that time is valuable. A wasted time cannot be recovered.
- Been punctual to meetings show you have respect for the people you are working with. It’s disrespectful to walk into a meeting way after the meeting has started. It brings joy and a sense of trust to employers when they see their employees always being punctual
WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE EXPRESSION “THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM” AND DO YOU BELIEVE IT IS TRUE? |
---|
The early bird gets the worm is an idiomatic expression and I believe in it. It simply points to the reality and the importance of starting something early. When you start early, your chances of succeeding and maximizing the full potential of what you are doing is very possible. We are always at an advantage When we do something earlier than everyone else. For example, When you come to the theater earlier, you stand the chance of sitting in front and getting a better view and etc.
PEOPLE SAY "ITS BETTER LATE THAN NEVER". DO YOU AGREE WITH THIS AND WHY? |
---|
The above statement is a diplomatic statement. It’s very important that we start things early and be always punctual but some times due to unforeseen circumstances, we may fall short of expectations. At this juncture is where I agree with this saying. Instead of not participating at all or not doing what is expected of us at all, it’s better we do it late. The most important thing is that we did it and produced the expected result even though it was late. So it’s better late than never. There are people who started out late in life and still achieved mile stones. If they had folded their hands saying it was already late, they would never have achieved anything.
