What is your understanding of emotions?

In my own understanding emotions is the feeling we see everyday in our life, emotions are those feelings that we experience in response to our environment and sometimes to our thoughts and memories in life. Emotions can be positive feelings like happiness, joy, love, and courageousness or negative feelings like anger, sadness, and hatred. They play a big impact in our lives, influencing our behavior, decisions and our relationship.
I will also like to say that emotions evolves as a way to help us survive and thrive in the world. lt allows us to process information and response to situations in our environment. Also emotions are linked to our physical bodies with different emotions triggering different physical responses
for example, someone being angry might lead to a faster heart rate and high blood pressure.

Have you ever had emotions that made you loss yourself ?, tell us about it

On the day of my graduation day, that day was the most sad day in my life, I prepared for the celebration because am about to graduate from secondary School. I didn't notice that I did not come back with my graduation dress, I was preparing and dancing in joy that I am graduating till when I finish taking my bath and want to wear my cloth, that is when I found out that I left my dress at school inside the hostel.
I didn't know what to do, I wanted to cry but I encouraged myself, so I took bike went to my school to go bring the dress. When I reach at the hostel I saw my cloth inside a bucket of water, this made me so angry, my heart was full of sadness. Still I didn't give up. I went home wash the dress and hang it to dry, I later went to the graduation ceremony, but I didn't go on time.
This made me lose my self because I was so angry, even when I went to the ceremony, I couldn't talk to anyone. They day I suppose to enjoy became my sad day.

Explain 5 way to deal with Emotions

  • Emotional awareness, we have to be aware of our emotions, this means paying attention to how we feel emotionally, without us suppressing our feelings, we have to notice them for example when we are stressed we might be feeling pains or tightness in our chest. By becoming aware of our emotions, we can start to understand and manage them better.

  • Another one is self compassion, this is act of relating ourselves with kindness and understanding, it is about treating ourselves the way we would treat a friend who is going through a hard time, practicing this can help you face your emotions.

  • Accepting of our emotions, we should learn to accept our emotions, recognizing that all emotions, even the ones that are not comfortable, we should not always ignore or deny our emotions, instead we should accept them as a normal and natural part of life.

  • Another effectively way we can deal with our emotions is self care. By taking care of our health both physical and mental health, this includes eating nutritious food, doing exercises and also getting enough sleep. Self care can help us to manage our emotions more effectively.

  • Lastly; Practicing mindfulness, mindfulness is about focusing on the present moment, without looking back or judging past situation. It can help you to accept your emotions and let go of negative thoughts. In conclusion we should all learn to express and deal with our emotions in healthy way.

Do you think emotions could hinder someone from achieving their dreams.

Yes, because emotions can sometimes get in the way of us achieving our goals, for example someone who is feeling anxious or fearful, might not be able to take risk to put him or her self through in difficult situation.
Another thing is when we feel overwhelmed maybe by anger, sadness, or unable to move our past away, this emotions can take up our mental energy and make it hard for us to focus on our dreams and goals.

Plus, I don't shy away from acknowledging how emotions can sometimes throw a wrench in our plans, emphasizing the importance of staying emotionally aware to stay on track with our dreams.

You really went deep into what emotions can do to us. I'm sorry for having to experience such a sad day and it will be a day you won't forget in a hurry. I acknowledge the fact that emotions could influence our day either positive or negative and your ability to control it not to cloud is all day
