MY CITY MY PRIDE- MY CITY'S UNIQUENESS

Hello great friends on steemit. It's a beautiful morning and I guess you all slept well. I am glad that steem for Nigeria community brought an opportunity for me to join this contest; "my city my pride". I want to tell you the uniqueness of my city so that you can pay a visit one day

The uniqueness of this city is based on it's rich culture with famous rich mineral resources such as limes stones and granite.
It serves as an avenue of the largest cannival in Africa and as international seaport, shipping out goods such as palm oil.

INTRODUCE YOUR CITY TO HELP GIVE IT A GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION.

My city is calabar, a port capital of cross river state, southern Nigeria. It lies along the calabar river 5 miles(8km) upstream from that river estuary

I love my city and I've spent most of my years there with moderate population.

WHAT ARE THOSE TOP THREE REMARKABLE THINGS THAT DISTINGUISH YOUR CITY FROM OTHERS?

Top three remarkable things are;

1. CALABAR CARNIVAL
   Calabar carnival is one of the largest African carnival which many foreigners, investors, music artiste and people from different countries come and be well entertained which other cities have not been able to organize such carnival for the whole world.
   This is indeed a remarkable thing and something I can boast of.

The calabar carnival parades and represent various Nigerias tribes and international participations . It also features other activities like fashion shows, boat regattas, Christmas village, football matches and traditional dances.

2.TOURIST ATTRACTION
The tourist are attracted by some attractive things in calabar such as; national museum which is the best ace to learn history, national park which serves as the most preserved tropical rainforest in west Africa. It extends over a land ness of 720 square kilometers which took a period of three years to be fully established.

Tinapa resort is also a business and liesure resort in the south south.

Obudu mountain resort compromise of height and miles of rolling hills and mountains which is used for race competitions. It has a temperature climate and the deep tropical forest allows for exotic breeds of butterflies to flourish.
We also have Mary slaessor's house which is currently an important tourist site where one can go down history lane to understand more about the. Missionaries. She arrives in calabar 1976.

1. NEATNESS:
   Calabar is known to be the cleanest city amongst others. Cleaning of roads in calabar was introduced by the former governor Mr Donald duke and was further maintained by other government which followed his steps.
   Every street has a refuse bin which you cannot littered anywhere. People were appointed to sweep the roads every morning to keep it clean.
   The city calabar is known as the cannan city

HAVE THESE TOP THREE THINGS CHANGED OVER TIME OR HAVE REMAINED THE SAME?

Some changed for good and others remained the same. One of the things that has changed is cannival. The new government just changed it to suit their own way and styles.
The city still remained clean and we still have tourist

Calabar is known for its solid mineral resources such as salt, coal, limestone, graphite, clay, iron and crude oil

Yes my city is really benefiting because we now have alot of investors coming in and it is known worldwide.
