A New Innovation Community

Steemit is a young, dynamic community. We're all here because we're early adopters who like exploring new technology. Understandably, given the nature of Steem and Steemit, there are many communities dedicated to discussing crypto. However, there are also exciting innovations happening in the non-crypto world, and so this intended to be a place for discussing some of those things.

Why is this needed? Innovation drives growth. Innovation drives employment. The only sustainable way forward for any organisation is innovation (even in the crypto world: competition between DeFi platforms will invariably erode profits towards zero over time, which is great for users, but not so great for token holders). Plus a lot of innovation is just intrinsically neat!

Why is this needed here? Steemit is a cool platform. It has huge potential, and the incentives should drive us all to produce much higher-quality content than is found on many other social media platforms. However, for it to grow, we need a wider range of conversations. We need to bring in the kind of content which is currently being discussed on blogs, websites, social media and other sites. So please join this community today and start contributing your thoughts, or requests for the kind of posts you would like to read!

As this community develops, we may want to form specialist communities around sectors (e.g. Agritech, Foodtech, Biotech, etc.), around types of Innovation (e.g. Social Innovation, Government Innovation, Open Innovation), around tools for innovation (e.g. Accelerators, Challenge Prizes etc.) or around Innovation Policy, and so on. But for the moment, this is intended to be a meeting place to start those conversations.
