RE: Auf der Seite stehen von | To stand with
The idea that there should be a perpetrator and a victim, a good guy and a bad guy, a guilty party and an innocent one, that it could be possible to take sides in this way, seems too simplistic to me and therefore ultimately wrong. Because nobody is only good or only bad, because perpetrators and victims should share responsibility (not guilt!).
In other words: it's complicated.
What I can explain quite simply and beyond doubt is that I have neither a meaningful concept of homeland, nor an attachment to a concept of nationality or fatherland, nor a sense of belonging to a group of people born by chance in the same region. I have no sympathy for borders, for the construction of a unit that does not really exist. As long as these ideas are not finally overcome, there will be wars...
Unfortunately, this is not how the order of world works! More unfortunately: there will be wars... We can't do any about it or can we?
We could. But not locally or partially or selectively. We need a global and complete change in our way of life, our expectations and our attitude. Unfortunately, people do not seem to be willing or able to do this.
I will tell you when this path will be open: when the need is so great (the climate is no longer bearable for anyone, hunger is insatiable, poverty is deadly). Then we will take the right path together (for a short time) and put all sensitivities to one side.
As soon as survival is assured, economic and religious interests will once again gain the upper hand. And everything starts all over again.
