Darf ich Euch meinen Neuen vorstellen? / May I introduce you to my new one?

Er ist etwas jünger, als ich es eigentlich bevorzuge. Ein Kraftpaket, topfit. Und er hat bislang noch nicht allzu viel von der Welt gesehen...

Um allen mitfühlenden Gemütern den Wind aus den Segeln zu nehmen: nein, Ty-ty braucht jetzt keine psychosoziale Unterstützung - er war an der Auswahl beteiligt und hat den Neuen in etwa so ins Herz geschlossen wie ich selber.

Natürlich rede ich von einem Auto. Es hat eine ganze Weile gedauert, den Mercedes (oder auch das "Kachelgerät", wie @udabeu ihn so liebevoll nannte ;-)) einigermaßen angemessen zu verkaufen - es lief quasi besser als befürchtet und schlechter als erhofft. Hat sich unter'm Strich gut angefühlt, wieder einmal den Beweis zu bekommen, daß man selbst nicht wirklich gierig veranlagt ist. Zäh war es trotzdem, aber mit diesem Schritt war dann der Weg frei, intensiv nach einem passenden Transporter zu suchen. Daß ich etwas mehr finanziellen Spielraum hatte als sonst, machte die Fahndung einfacher. Es gab etliche gute Angebote, auch einge mit "Haken". Aber der Handel mit Gebrauchtwagen - egal ob Verkauf oder Kauf - ist ohnehin eine Geschichte für sich (gibt es darüber eigentlich seriöse wissenschaftliche Studien...?)

Wie auch immer: ein Renault Master hat es uns angetan. Vor allem wegen der sehr wenigen Kilometer, die er auf dem nicht vorhandenen Buckel hat. Auch seine Zugkraft ist nicht zu verachten, wenn ich an den als nächstes auf dem Programm stehenden Pferdeanhänger denke. Der Allgemeinzustand ist sehr gut, er hat und kann alles, was wir brauchen. Also... Er sieht ein bißchen langweilig aus.

Man könnte sagen, er ist schon personalisiert (weißer Rabe auf weißem Grund ;-)). Man könnte ihm aber auch irgendwann etwas Farbe in Form von Airbrush oder Graffito gönnen. Das behalten wir 'mal im Auge...

Ja nun. Es ist uns gelungen, einen Termin bei der Berliner Zulassungsstelle schon in der Folgewoche zu ergattern. Das ist ungewöhnlich; normalerweise beträgt die Wartezeit momentan 5-6 Wochen. Das Universum ist also ein bißchen auf unserer Seite ;-))

Also: die Pendelei und Ackerei geht weiter, jetzt eben auf höherem Niveau ;-)) Und demnächst wird es dann wohl ernst mit dem Umzug. Ich kann es kaum noch erwarten...

To take the wind out of the sails of all sympathetic minds: no, Ty-ty doesn't need any psychosocial support right now - he was involved in the selection process and has taken the newcomer to his heart about as much as I have.

Of course I'm talking about a car. It took quite a while to sell the Mercedes (or the "tiled appliance", as @udabeu so affectionately called it ;-)) reasonably well - it went better than I had feared and worse than I had hoped. All in all, it felt good to have proof once again that we are not really greedy ourselves. It was still tough, but this step paved the way for an intensive search for a suitable transporter. The fact that I had a little more financial leeway than usual made the search easier. There were a number of good offers, including some with a "catch" . But the trade in used cars - whether selling or buying - is a story in itself anyway (are there actually any serious scientific studies on this...?)

Whatever the case, a Renault Master has taken a shine to us. Mainly because of the very few kilometres it has on its non-existent hump. Its pulling power is also not to be sneezed at when I think of the horse trailer that is next on the programme. The general condition is very good, it has and can do everything we need. So... It looks a bit boring.

One could say it's already personalised (white raven on a white background ;-)). But one could also give it some colour in the form of an airbrush or graffito at some point. We'll keep an eye on that...

Yes, well. We managed to get an appointment at the Berlin registration office the following week. That's unusual; normally the waiting time is 5-6 weeks at the moment. So the universe is a bit on our side ;-))

The commuting and ploughing continues, now at a higher level ;-)) And soon we'll be getting serious about the move. I can hardly wait...
