As I started to read, I thought "that sounds nice" and "that's a good idea" - pedestrianisation of city centres works surprisingly well in some places and makes for a much more pleasant (and safer) experience once you're there. But... that's assuming there's a flow of traffic elsewhere that works. That there's parking that works. That there's public transport in and out of the city that works (and that people are happy to use).

Pedestrianizing everything and hoping that the cars magically disappear sounds wonderful though 🙂
