RE: Life Goes On

in Deutsch Unplugged2 years ago

Dear @chriddi,

I'm sure "a very good Steemit friend" is happy to see this post. He is also happy to have such a title :-)

Your post is incredible and causes a storm of emotions. Happiness comes from the fact that life becomes colorful again. Sadness - from your painful loss. Your mother's photos came as a big surprise to me. They show that in her last days she really looked good and it gave hope. Death is a bad friend, she likes to hit in the back.

I want to say that you are really friends with animals. Gathering two sheep and two dogs together to take a picture is not so easy. Animals need to love you and go where you are now. If it is easy to do with dogs, then sheep usually consider such attention superfluous.

The last photo where you are surrounded by animals is just perfect. They need you :-)

I can boast that I once also took part in a hunt for a swarm of bees. My job was to water them so that they would think it was raining and sat down instead of flying far away. I was not very lucky, because the bees decided to sit on the highest branch of an old tree. I doused them with a small bucket of water. Just imagine the force with which I had to throw this water :-)

Thank you for this post. I read it yesterday and it was proof to me that the white stripe exists and I hope it will come soon. I'm glad you're with us and find time for Steemit. I wish you only joy in the future :-)

By the way, I notice in the photos that you have a supply of firewood. Do you heat the room with a solid fuel boiler or is it for a fireplace?

Finally, I want to make one amendment. The first time I read that you have sheep, I advised you nonsense in my comment. The fact is that the translator from German into Ukrainian sometimes translates the word sheep as a goat. When I told you that I fed goats an elderberry, this does not apply to sheep in any way. If you remember this silly comment, forget it :-)

Hihi, thanks - glad you enjoyed the post. And that you recognize white stripes - you promised me those after all.... 😊

Yes. And it's precisely because the mama looks so good - and she was fine to begin with - that the whole event is still so incomprehensible, too. It also keeps coming out in condolence letters from relatives how surprised and shocked people are. But I'm really not there to comfort them now... 😉 .
Hey, writing helps with processing, think I'll still take that freedom from time to time.

I've been downright fond of animals since I was a kid. Animals notice that too - even the most aggressive, strange dogs were nice to me when I once worked as a mailman. Even the shyest sheep in the barn always come to sniff me, while they otherwise quickly run away from two-legged friends.
My dogs get along excellently with the rams - and vice versa. It's too cute: When the dogs come out in the morning, Mäx is the first to run to the "pasture" and happily licks the sheep's snout.

Interesting way to get a swarm of bees from the tree with water. I rely then but rather on the experts... 😉

We have central heating powered by gas. In the living room we also have a very good fireplace stove, which we use a lot in the winter. When we open the room doors, even some heat gets into the upper floor. With the current gas prices, we should basically get into the habit of...
We also have a wood stove in the kitchen. With it we can also cook and bake. But out of sheer laziness we mostly use the electric stove. This will also change in winter at the latest!

Thank you for your time and your response. I knew I would guess you love animals. This is immediately apparent :-)

Excuse my curiosity, what is the current cost of gas for private consumers in Germany?

Our gas price will rise from 7.25 ct/kWh to 10.52 ct/kWh (3,24 UAH/kWh) from July. That's a big increase. Last year we paid 5.88 ct/kWh. So within half a year, the price has doubled.

A double increase in the cost of gas can bring the entire industry to its knees. As a result, there will be an increase in prices for all goods, some factories will be forced to stop, and this will lead to an increase in unemployment and an increase in the burden on the state budget.

We experienced something similar. The company I work for wanted to stop chemical plants, but we managed to figure out how to replace natural gas with hydrogen of our own production. After this decision, the production cost decreased and we displaced almost all importers of polymers from the Ukrainian market.

This increase in gas prices has hit the most vulnerable, such as retirees, hardest. This winter they had almost no heating. It is a pity that this is happening.

Nowadays, soo many things are interconnected. Single causes usually have wide-ranging consequences. This was already made very clear to us with Corona.

The fact that your company has found this way out shows once again that it is important to look for alternatives. Usually there is a lack of motivation when everything is running normally. Your example should be a model for German companies.

Your example should be a model for German companies.

It sounds a little funny, because we buy 90% of the technologies from German companies.

😂 I can imagine that... but why are German companies not able to replace natural gas with hydrogen...

Therefore I still think it could be a model... 😏

10,52 ct/kWh

The average price for 1 kilowatt hour (kWh) of gas in this country was 13.77 ct/kWh (~4.3 UAH/kWh, rate 6/28/22) in Spring 2022 for a household in a single-family home, according to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW). This represents an increase of 95% compared to the previous year. The actual costs can vary for each household - depending on the tariff, region and/or provider.

But this is the status from spring. Just three weeks ago my provider increased to 19 ct/kWh (~5.9 UAH/kWh, rate 6/28/22). And last week our Minister of Economy declared a gas emergency because of the lack of Russian gas. So nobody knows how expensive the gas - especially in winter - will be... 😱

Apparently, many people in the world are angry with Ukraine that it has been defending itself for so long. Because of this, prices are rising.

Unfortunately, I can't compare the price with what we have now. We have only just started to switch to gas metering in kWh. Until now, we kept records in m3. One m3 of gas costs UAH 9, but at the moment the prices are artificially frozen.

Oh, the conversion from kwh to m3 depends on the power of the heating system.
I have found something about it and it looks like that you can say the following about the thumb (quasi an unconfirmed average value): Energy content about 10 kWh/m3.

Oh, there I am upset about quite other than Ukrainians....
First, of course, there is the aggressor. But each country must also look at itself. How can it be that a country makes itself dependent on a single gas supplier?

In our invoice, the conversion is: 1 m3 x 0.9637 (condition number) x 11.217 (calorific value). This means that 1 m3 = 10.8 kWh and 1 kWh = 0.092 m3. Whereby the calorific value varies in the course of the year and I don't know what the condition number.
