So he spent the night in custody and was then able to make the payment to the court cashier on Monday morning.

He sure is starting off with a bang :/

He was in a very bad mood - he is used to breakdowns in every conceivable form and knows how to deal with them. Even before the start of the actual tour, however, it almost seemed like a bad omen to him.

Shame man, that really sucks!!! Tell him not to overthink thins! I mean yeah - for sure, I totally get it... when you start out on an adventure of this magnitude - you kinda want things to kick off on a positive note so that you can be in the right sort of headspace, but it sounds like he has encountered a fair amount of frustration already... so I totally understand his mood!

arriving in Morocco exhausted and dejected, but full of vigour. The cables of his lighting system were damaged during transport and had to be repaired at a local bike dealer. In order to get back into good mental shape, he decided to stay for a few days. Staying with private hosts from our shared network, he had a good time and quickly got fit for the actual start.

I suppose it is all going to be an adventure and like you just said on my post... it is all about the ups and downs really isn't it. No doubt, the small break did him good!
