Warner Siemens was born on December 13, 1818, in what is now Prussia, Germany. He was the fourth child of a poor farmer father. In all, they were fourteen brothers and sisters. Growing up in a tense world, Siemens learned a lot about life. However, he did not have to accept less sacrifice for this. Due to financial difficulties, he had to leave secondary school without any degree.He left school and joined the Prussian army at the age of seventeen.

He had the opportunity to study at the Artillery and Engineering School for three years as part of his training in the Army. Here he received higher education in physics, chemistry and mathematics. As he approached science, a new world opened up in front of him, which completely changed the course of his life.

In 1838 he became a second lieutenant in the army. After completing his training in 1838, he joined his own unit. It can be said that everything was going well. His mother and father died six months later, in July 1839.The responsibility of ten younger orphaned brothers and sisters fell on Warner's shoulders. He had brought his younger brother William to him even earlier. At this time he was also feeling the urge to do something for the rest.

Unlike other military officers, Siemens did not spend his leisure time playing cards or hanging out. In his spare time he used to spend his time doing scientific experiments. During this time he invented a technique of coating metals.Therefore, in 1842, he became the owner of the first patent. His position in the military also changed. He was assigned to an artillery workshop in Berlin to test his skills in scientific experimentation.
