Revolutionary leader Mao Zedong is the founder of modern China. He is remembered for his influence on Chinese society and culture. He was chairman of the government of the People's Republic of China from 1949 to 1959 and led the Communist Party until his death. He is also considered a prominent communist theorist.
He was also the author of several books and a poet. His philosophy was established as Maoism. However, as much as he was skilled as a revolutionary leader, he could not show that much success in running the state.

Mao Zedong was born on December 26, 1893, in the village of Shaoshan in Hunan Province, China, to an aristocratic peasant Mao family. His father Mao Zedong was a wealthy grain merchant. Mother Wayne Quimei took care of the children at home.

The Qing dynasty was in a very miserable rule in China at that time. The life of the people was very miserable then. However, the Mao family was more prosperous than the others. They had been cultivating their three acres of land for several generations.

Mao Zedong was admitted to his village school at the age of eight. He then studied Confucianism for about five years. However, at the age of 13 he dropped out of school to help his family financially. He started farming in full swing.

Mao was expelled from several schools for his rebellious attitude. Even ran away from home many times. In 1908, 14-year-old Mao's father arranged for him to marry a 20-year-old girl. Although the girl moved into their home, Mao Zedong never accepted the marriage.

Shortly after Mao, he moved to Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, to resume his education. At this time the anti-Qing dynasty movement started in China. He participated in the movement for six months in 1911 and 1912.
