During World War II, America encouraged young people to join the military. The government determined that seventeen-year-olds could join in peace. Sixteen year olds can join subject to parental permission. It was not legal to take anyone younger than that.Twelve-year-old Calvin Graham was the focus of state concerns because of the government's age policy. From a young age, he wanted to join the US military and work for the country. But at that age, there is no way to join the military!
Calvin had a fantasy about the US military since he was a child. Calvin shaved his beard from the age of eleven to make him look a little older than his actual age. And even before that, he had started practicing talking in a variegated voice after his brother's clothes.
Calvin can not allow the dream to be so easily nurtured from a young age! He thought his mother's forged signature and a notary stamp stolen from a local hotel could be useful. But these did not become his main concern.
His main headache was a dentist who would surely look into the teeth of those interested in joining the Navy standing in line and find out their true age. And when his real age is revealed, all his attempts to join the military will be in vain.
When willing to stand in line for Navy recruitment, he willingly stood in line for thirteen- to fourteen-year-old boys. So that he can raise his chest and say, "I am the only seventeen-year-old youth in the crowd of thirteen or fourteen years old in this line."
