Greetings everyone! I hope you all are doing well. Finally, the wait is over and the 6th week of Steemit engagement challenge season 8 has started. There are many amazing and interesting contests this week. This is my first participation in this week’s engagement challenge and I would like to mention my brother @lhorgic who invited me to participate in this contest.

One day you wake up and see a wrinkle in the mirror. You realize that growing old is like a punishment. It’s like being in an unstoppable machine heading towards the grave. You start to feel the wounds of time and your memories slipping away. But the truth is, we rarely feel our age.

When we’re young, we think we’re mature beyond our years. As we get older, we long to be seen as fun and forever young. But there are good things about getting old too. We become familiar with loneliness and learn to let go and move on. It may seem strange, but it is the reality.

With age, we appreciate the charm of the ordinary things in life and cherish the moments we share with our family and friends. We gain valuable insights and experiences that only come with age. We learn to love ourselves for who we are and find inner peace. Growing old may not be easy, but it’s a journey worth taking.

Would you prefer to age with vitality and wellness or with limitations and reliance on medication?

Aging is a natural process that we cannot escape. This process is not only influenced by our genetics but also by our lifestyle choices. The decisions we make every day affect how we lead our lives and determine our destiny. By staying active and eating well, we can slow down the aging process and keep our youth for longer.

Personally, I would not like to rely on medication in old age. I would like to remain healthy even in old age and not be dependent on anyone. Getting sick can be hard on you and your loved ones, especially as you get older. Sometimes, we can’t avoid certain health problems that come with aging, but we can still make choices that help us stay healthy as much as possible. This will have a positive impact on you and your loved ones for years to come.

What are you doing to reach the old age you long for?

image.png

Health is my top priority in life. That’s why I make sure to work out for an hour every day. I also eat well and stay away from junk food most of the time. Sometimes I treat myself to a soda or something when I’m with friends, but that’s rare.

Besides health, I’m working on becoming more financially secure. Right now I am looking for a job with flexible hours and a monthly salary. My next plan is to start a business by saving some money and then invest when I have multiple income streams.

I have already invested in crypto. Who knows, maybe my crypto investment will benefit me a lot by the time I reach old age. Besides that, I want to build friendships with people from different countries and cultures because social relations are also very important for moving forward in life.

Are you afraid of growing old?

image.png

Many people are afraid of death because it is a mystery. We don’t know what will happen to us after we die, and that can make us feel anxious and uneasy. Our existence and awareness also end with our death. We may be troubled by all the things we will never experience or accomplish.

Some people also fear aging because they feel like they are running out of time. They may have unfulfilled dreams or goals that they want to pursue before they die. Aging is a reminder that death is inevitable and that can be distressing.

Death is a natural part of life and we can’t avoid it. Instead of denying this truth, we can embrace it and find our own spiritual path to deal with it. This can help us feel more calm and comfortable with ourselves and our mortality.

If I talk about myself, then yes, I am afraid of getting old one day. Maybe it’s because when I see my elderly parents, sometimes I feel a strange fear thinking that one day they will have to leave. I want to do a lot for them and I want all this to happen in their lifetime. But still, I would say that it is not so important how long we live but it is more important how well we live because death is inevitable.

No one can deny death. That’s why we should forget our past and focus on the present because the choices we make in the present will shape our future.

Do you have any experience to share with us about an older adult who is an example for you to follow?

My country has many inspiring elderly people who have made a difference in their society and shown others the way. One of them is Abdul Sattar Edhi, who died in 2016 at 88 years old.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was a remarkable person who dedicated his life to serving humanity. He respected the dignity and rights of every human being and helped those who were suffering or in need. His motivation was to fulfill his duty to humanity rather than to seek personal glory. He found joy in helping others and aimed to make a positive difference in the world.

Edhi led a simple and modest life, giving his resources to others. He wanted to ease the pain of others rather than to enrich himself. He believed that serving others was the source of true happiness and made it his life’s mission to have a beneficial impact.

The Edhi Foundation depends on people’s generosity to provide services like urgent health care, housing for the needy, and aid to disaster victims.

Edhi endured many challenges, including attacks on his life, but he persisted in his work. He spoke out against the government and thought that people had the power to make a difference.

Edhi’s work and legacy continue to inspire countless people around the world. He was an example for people of all ages but especially for the elderly. His dedication to serving others, even in hard times, is evidence of the power of human empathy and kindness.

I would like to invite @irawandedy, @josevas217, @msharif, @patjewell, and @simonnwigwe to join this contest, if they have not already taken part in it.

Can we really run away from reality? Smiles...we all will grow old some day.

Let's just do well to maximize this youthful age by making every day count and engaging in productive activities that will in turn give us rest when we become old.

You've made a very beautiful entry my friend. I love reading your publication. Welldone.

I think there is a little bit of fear of growing old in all of us. BUT you are right, in spirit we don't feel older. It is the body that tells us that "old ages" has arrived!
Just remember, old age is not being called the "golden years" without a reason.
Great post!!!
Wishing you all the best for the contest.
PS: As usual, thanks for the invite!

Thank you for visiting and reading my blog. 😊
