Greetings Everyone,

Hope you all are fine and healthy over there. I'm fine and healthy too. Today luckily I found this contest and here I come with my entry. We eat rice with veggies almost everyday and it is almost our regular food to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Basically we eat vegetables in our lunch and sometimes in our dinner too.

My most favorite is leafy veggies but its rarely found to eat when you are living a hostel life. Here most of the time chicken served in lunch and a menu of fried veggies like bitter gourd, Wax gourd. gourd and so on but potato is a common in everything. Many people loves eating potato, I like too but I'm not a fan.

Anyway, in this blog I'm going to share some of my most favorite veggies and it's health benefits. I love eating okra, tomatoes, beans, gourds, wax gourd, bitter gourd, pumpkin, capsicum and many more veggies. Actually liking and disliking depends on the type of cooking.

Many veggies can be taste delicious and some can be tasteless, depend of cooking. Some veggies can be consumed when its raw, like tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and so on. I like carrots too because its help for our eyesight. I like capsicum, lemons and green chilies too but these are like cooking ingredients.

Health Benefits of Okra or Ladies Finger:


Many of us know it as ladies finger but it's good name is Okra, We call it in Bengali Vendi or dhedosh, sounds strange right? These are Bengali words in English. Let's talk about it's health benefits but before that let me tell you why okra is my favorite vegetable amongst all vegetables, because it has no need to peel out and it can be cook easily. It can be consumed easily and no need to hurt our teeth for chewing for long time haha! Jokes apart, I like it for it's yummy taste. It taste yummy when its fried or with fish curries too. I like it more when its fried with shrimps.

For the high fiber contents in okra, it can be a good digest food which helps overcoming constipation which is a big health issue. Okra has antioxidant properties which helps liver against free radical damage which is indeed a good impact on our health. It contain vitamin K, iron and it helps producing hemoglobin, red blood cells and blood clotting and it is essential for our body. These are few, there are huge health benefits of okra.

Health Benefits of Gourd And Bitter Gourd:


Almost all kind of gourd is my favorite but the bitter gourd is my most favorite. Not only for health benefits but also it's taste suit me even it taste bitter. Soupy bitter gourd or bitter gourd curry both taste yummy and it taste good with different kind of fishes too. Including bitter gourd most of the gourd has rich amount of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Bottle gourd can be considered a good source of vitamin B, C, and other nutrients in it and it taste yummy if we can cook well.

We can drink the juice of raw gourds which is healthier than consuming after cooking. Gourd help reducing stresses, It keep our heart healthy, it help us on weight loss when we are getting overweight. It help us preventing premature graying of hair, help in digestion and best food for our skin. Gourd has huge health benefits like other veggies.

Health Benefits of Capsicum or Bell pepper :


Capsicum or bell pepper has rich amount of vitamin C and Vitamin A, I like veggies with rich amount of vitamin C as it good for our oral or dental health beside other benefits. Curry of capsicum taste yummy beside that it can be use as taste maker of soupy curries. It mostly available here in the winter and sometimes all over the year. Capsicums are colorful like red, yellow and green mostly found in the market. I took the photo when I went to the local raw market.

Capsicum is full of vitamins and minerals. It help improving metabolism, for having rich amount of vitamin A and C its good for our eyesight too. It help preventing cancer which is a great quality of it. Red capsicum has anti cancer properties and antioxidants. It protect our immunity and reduce anxiety, it helps reducing Inflammation too. It is useful for controlling diabetes as research says. It can prevent yellow fever and so on.

Health Benefits of Tomatoes :


Tomato is one of my most favorite veggie that also available around us. Green and red both tomatoes are full of nutrition and it also can be use as taste maker for curries like capsicum. Do you know tomatoes reduce the risk of heart diseases and cancer? Research says, it is the source of vitamin K, potassium, folate, and vitamin C and A. It save us from urinary tract infections, cancer, bad effects of smoking and so on. It really very good for our skin and many people use the tomato juice for facial treatment at home.

Tomato reduce high blood pressure. It improve digestive health, good for controlling diabetes. It helps preventing gallstones. It also take care of our heart. It has huge health benefits and a single blog is not enough to describe huge health benefits of each vegetables I love to eat. But I've described the bullet points of it's health benefits.


Each and every vegetables contain rich amount of nutrition until any harmful chemical not involved in it. These days many corrupt veggies seller mix formalin, artificial color to make veggies attractive but these make the veggies poisonous. These days organic veggies rarely found as a result people are suffering from different kind of diseases and become dependent to medicine. High dose of medicine can be reason of our early death. If you can afford then grow your own food to be secure completely. Your health is on your hand. Stay safe and stay healthy!
