"The Healthy Recipe"
This is Jollof Rice,yep, Ghana Jollof Rice. It's one of the recipes that I love so much. It's preparation may look simple but it usually needs skills to do that. Before you can prepare this sumptuous meal, you'll need the following;
- Rice (Perfumed).
- Vegetable Oil.
- Tomatoes or Tomato Paste.
- Carrot.
- Green Pepper.
- Meat.
- Spices
- Salt and
- Ginger

Usually all I do at home is to first, season my meat, prepare my stew, add water to the stew, then add the rice. Immediately i see it's ready for serving, I then add the chopped vegetables, cover it and allow the steam to cook the vegetables. There!!! It's is now ready to be served.

The quality of the Jollof Rice one prefers will determine the amount of money to be spent. To eat a quality healthy Jollof Rice means that the individual has to spend more money in buying quality ingredients. Aside the quality, the accuracy of ones measurements of the ingredients too counts a lot.
When I decide to prepare a Jollof Rice for myself, this is how much I spend.
- Rice 1 cup - ¢8 -111.9 steem
- Oil 1 small bottle - ¢7 - 97.9 steem
- Tomato Paste (Sachete) - ¢10 - 139.9 steem
- Meat - ¢40 -559.96 steem
- Salt - just a pinch
- Onion - ¢5 -69.96 steem
- Carrot - ¢5 -69.96 steem
- Green Pepper - ¢5 - 49.98 steem
- Ginger - ¢1 -13.9 steem
- Spice - ¢3 - 41.98 steem
All making a total of ¢84 thus 1175.30 steem. So that is the cost of the ingredients on the market if I decide to prepare my favorite recipe for myself.
