Today I am going to participate in the new Engagement Challenge s8w3 in "STEEMIT HEALTH" community and the main topic of today's Engagement Challenge is "Smoking Kills". I would like to thank all the fans of "STEEMIT HEALTH" who jointly organized such a wonderful contest on smoking. Now I present to you today's engagement post about smoking.

What is my opinion with the phrase "smoking kills"?

Smoking multiplies the risk of heart attack, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (including emphysema and chronic bronchitis), and cancer (especially lung cancer, cancer of the pancreas, cancer of the larynx and oral cavity). Tobacco can cause high blood pressure and peripheral vascular disease. Smoking makes people lose their intelligence. Because he knows for sure that smoking is bad for health, he still drinks it. Due to smoking, long-term diseases such as increase in heat, inflammation, burning etc. are seen in the body. The arteries connected to the heart are more likely to become blocked. There is even a possibility of suffering from chest disorders. Based on these factors it is clear that smoking is harmful to health which can lead to death later.

What are the main causes of smoking addiction?

There are many main reasons for smoking addiction. One of them is;

  • People get addicted to smoking by being mentally traumatized.
  • People get addicted to smoking to get some relief from family problems.
  • People become addicted to smoking in Sangadosh.
  • People become addicted to smoking due to separation of lover and lover.
  • Due to the pain of losing a loved one, people start smoking which later turns into addiction.
  • Some people become addicted to smoking while smoking as a hobby. etc

Am I or someone I know addicted to smoking? What changes occur in a person who smokes after addiction?

First of all, I am not addicted to smoking. I never like to smoke and I don't go near it. I don't like smoking under any circumstances no matter how much stress I get and I advise people who smoke to quit smoking.

My cousin elder brother is addicted to smoking and he has been smoking for several years. Before he started smoking, he was quite calm. Presently in Sangadosh he is badly addicted to smoking. After getting addicted to smoking I noticed several changes in my cousin and they are;

  • My cousin is always irritable after smoking.
  • He is very misbehaving in short words and in anger even lashes out at elders.
  • He has now started associating with bad friends.
  • He returns home late at night and goes to sleep without talking to anyone after eating dinner for a long time
  • Sometimes goes crazy without smoking material.
  • If someone prevents him from smoking, he misbehaves with him.
  • As a result of smoking, he is largely isolated from his family.
  • If you don't let him smoke after a normal meal he starts acting crazy.
  • If these effects of smoking continue in him, he will be isolated from the society.

What do I think we should do to reduce the rate of smoking addiction?

To reduce the rate of smoking addiction we need to continue some important work steps then it will be possible to reduce the rate of smoking addiction. Things like;

  • Pledge to quit smoking today. Cigarette packets kept on the table or in the pocket should be thrown in the dustbin.

  • One day should be seen without smoking. Then try to feel the difference. After two, three days you should stay away from smoking. Then the habit will develop.

  • Follow up of people who have quit smoking and try to find out what changes in their health.

  • Take a look at how much money you spend on cigarettes or tobacco products every month? It will be easier for you without smoking that money should be saved and spent in other sectors.

  • Avoid the company of your smoking friends then it is possible to stay away from smoking to a large extent.

  • At the time you want to smoke, you have to walk on the street then there will be no demand for smoking.

  • Stay away from smoking corner anywhere.

  • Anti-smoking and health awareness books should be read.

  • In case of last resort to a doctor and take counseling help. etc.

Conclusion

Some people say that man is a slave of habit but actually man is never a slave of habit. People can give up any habit they want and so if someone can't quit smoking just because of the habit then it must be considered as his personal weakness. Smoking kills people, makes them sick. So smokers should stop smoking by any means. By consciously saying no to smoking, anyone can prevent smoking and keep themselves away from poisoning.

Nowadays smoking has become an addiction of every people. People are getting addicted to smoking due to various reasons. People become addicted to smoking due to stress, people become addicted to smoking due to breakup, people become addicted to smoking due to leaving family. People become addicted to smoking due to various mental problems. There are many people around us who are constantly dying by smoking. Thank you for sharing such a detailed publication about smoking and its fatal effects. You are right surrounding environment matters alot in developing bad habits, sometimes home environment but mostly bad company harms the people adversely and they reached to a pint of death.
But as you told about your cousin. In my opinion, passive smoking is more fatal as it kills us silently therefore lung cancer become spread with every passing day.
