"SECS 8 Week 6: How do I want to grow old?"
Greetings friends
A special thanks to the Steemit team and the entire Steemit platform for the initiative of the engagement challenge which helps stemians to relate and engage with one another from different parts of the world. I am happy to show my participation in the above topic which is "How I want to grow old" While checking communities this evening, I was captivated by the topic and curious to share on the topic so keep reading.
How do you want to age: healthy and energetic or limited and dependent on medication?
Smiles... This question has taken my mind far, imagining myself in old age. I want to age healthy and energetic, I know fully well that someday I will get very old to the point I would wish to rest but I believe I can also speak and prophesy good health to my old age, I want my old age should be in such a way that I would look old but healthy and strong, this is my heart desire.
What are you doing to reach the old age you long for?
Honestly, I am trying my very best to see that I reach that healthy old age. My desire for a healthy old age starts now, now I am still very very young, and the preparation for a healthy old start from what I eat presently, the work I do and the rest. To go straight to the point, I eat a lot of fruits to work thoroughly in my skin and entire body system against my old age to come. I don't engage in very stressful work that would make me look so depressed before my old age, lastly, I avoid using bleaching creams because it fades skin easily and when one gets to old age, the skin looks irritating which is very bad.
Are you afraid of getting old, yes or no? Justify your answer.
I am not afraid of getting old rather, I am preparing for old age because it is a mandatory thing to be old, I was once a child, and I am now a young person, old age must surely come and after old age, that is all about the life. Old age is an age for rest, it is an age where grandchildren surround the table and It is an age of pets from different angles. Pets from the children, grandchildren and daughter inlaws.
Most old people I encounter these days are not enjoying their old age for so many reasons, children don't allow them, I have seen a grandmother who still strives to feed her son of 52 years old why? Because the child was never thinking of taking care of the poor woman when she gets old. Dear friends, that is the only point they need that loving moment and with that they will always smile when they see us coming.
Do you have any experience to share with us about an older adult who is an example to follow for you?
Yes! My grandma has been the reason I so much cherish old age and can't wait to be old, she is a storyteller in other words, she loves sharing stories. One thing I see as an example to follow is her loving heart, this might be a point to us all, when you get old make sure the loving heart for children is always their and by that, they would always run to sit with you and keep calling you granny, my grandma made me feel at home and till date I miss her so much ever since she passed on.
She is a very neat woman, she keeps everything neat, she always say unexpected visitors can come at any time and I would always laugh because I don't know who the old woman is expecting as visitors again in her live because she was very old before she died. She was indeed a model and I love and promise to portray exactly her person, especially in old age.
In conclusion, thank you very much for reading through my post and I love you all...I invite @ruthjoe, @spanky-dollar, @josepha to show their participation too.

Grandma are always fun to be with they teach us alot of things and of course spoilt us with lot of goodies that ordinarily our parent won't give us all in the name of they want to train us. I missed my grandma anytime am with her before her dismiss I eat anything I like at any time without complain.
Ofcourse dear, I have learnt more than enough from my granny too and you are very right to say they train us to be who we are today. Your comments are always warming dear friend, thank you.
Yeah. My mom's mother is also a very good example of an elderly I mimick to grow old like. You must have carefully studied your mum's lifestyle. Goodluck dear in the contest.
Waw! It is good to know that your grand mother was also a very good woman and same my granny too, thank you somuch dear and I wish you all the best.
Hello friend, thank you very much for your entry, I'm glad you take old age seriously and also with great joy, because old age should not be synonymous with fear, on the contrary, it is a process of life in which we should all feel happy and happy to be part of it.
It is good that you have your grandmother as an example, that always serves as a guide. Have a nice day, don't forget to support other users with your vote and quality comment.
