In this article, I shall discuss the negative impacts smoking has on the body , the main reasons for smoking addiction, and as well discuss how it is likey for people to reduce their smoking addiction, Happy Reading!!.

Give your views about the phrase "Smoking Kills!".

The Phrase “Smoking Kills!” is a word that we often use when it comes to discussing smoking addiction. But is the exact meaning?

Smoking is known to be one of the highest causes of death in the world, and it is also responsible for a lot of health problems, smoking causes very harmful diseases such as lung cancer, heart disease, and kidney disease.

In a simple explanation, smoking kills because it has the ability to cause damage to our bodies and increases the rate of developing heart deadly diseases which are likely to shorten the human lifespan.

What are the main reasons why people become addicted to smoking?

Another important question is, If Smoking Kills, Why do people still become addicted to it?

Smoking addiction is caused by the human mentality. Even despite knowing that this kills, there is this mental development in the brain that sorts of creates a feeling of pleasure while in the act, so in this case the brain sort of led them to believe the Cons outweigh the Pros.

Smoking addiction is more of a mental effect, some people already made up their minds that they can only feel peace and relaxation while smoking especially those going through tough times, they see smoking as a way out of their problem which might vacate temporarily, but they are okay with it regardless despite knowing the damaging effect of it.

So all things considered, this is the reason people continue to smoke, even when they know the dangers of it. The addiction has become so strong that it is now difficult for them to quit, even if they want to.

Are you addicted to smoking, or is someone you may know addicted to smoking? What changing have you seen after addiction?

NO!!, I don't smoke and neither am I addicted to smoking, but I have had an experience with a friend who had OD'd from smoking and was taken to a psychiatric clinic, but unfortunately after he got out in a year, he has not left the smoking behavior totally, addiction is really hard!!

Although I did notice some changes in his health behavior when he started becoming addicted. For example, he began to develop bad breath and rough teeth, and he also coughs often.

All in all, smoking addiction can lead to severe health problems in the body system, such as lung cancer, and kidney disease.

What should we do to reduce the rate of smoking addiction?

There are several ways in which we can help individuals to reduce their smoking addiction.

1 - Educate People: - We may need to educate people about the dangers of smoking and the effect it has on the body and I believe that this can safely help them quit.

2 - More TV Advertisement - Government can help by organizing several tv campaigns and advertisements that highlight the harmful effects of smoking.

3 - Therephy Session: We can also support people who are addicted to smoking by providing them with therapy sessions, and talking to them about their feeling or whatever is giving them life difficulties.

Conclusion

Smoking addiction is more of a mental disease that was developed by the brain system which makes the brain believe in the current pleasure it's getting while neglecting the side effects of it. smoking is a serious problem that has deadly consequences.

It is important that we understand the dangers of smoking and also provide support to those who are already addicted to it. By enlightening smokers about its damages, we can help reduce the rate of smoking addiction, Remember, smokers, are liable to die Young. Thank you everyone for coming, I hereby invite @solexybaba, @josepha, and @Sahmie to participate in the contest as well.

I totally agree with you on this;
"Smoking addiction is more of a mental effect, some people already made up their minds that they can only feel peace and relaxation while smoking especially those going through tough times, they see smoking as a way out of their problem which might vacate temporarily, but they are okay with it regardless despite knowing the damaging effect of it"

People really feel smoking is a way out for their pains and depression so therefore there is really a need to create more awareness to counter that ideology in the minds of smokers and put to the minimal the rate at which people smokes. Thank you for sharing your view on this @badmus-official i really learnt alot from this post.
