The Big #Freewrite contest

Hello steemians, so here I am going through@disconnect to search for contest to participate in and the first one that comes up after the engagement challenge is freewrite. What does that mean!!! Well after some search I have come to the knowledge of it's meaning.

There is so much that I do not really know where to start from but I will write about something I prayed for during my morning devotion, NIGERIA.

Nigeria is my country and one that I love dearly. I mean I do not have any other country to which I am a citizen of than this country. If my country is working then I as the citizen will be okay but when things are not okay, I won't be okay.

Since the last election which held last year, things have gone AWOL in the country.
It started with the claim that the President won the election by fraudulent rigging in line with INEC (a body in charge of the election) and the judiciary. A lot of citizens were disgruntled and angry at the outcome of the elections.

This led to tribal conflict between the Igbos (who claimed to have had a better candidate in Peter Obi) and the Yorubas (who presented the winner whom people claim to be of dubious background in terms of drug trafficking).

The popular social media space Twitter now X has been turned into a war zone where these two tribes troll, insult and fight each other.

I always find it disheartening going online to see this kind of things you know.
I am neither Igbo nor Yoruba but I believe that we can coexist harmoniously even with our differences. That is the only way to move forward as a nation. I do not take the sides of anyone in this war although I do call their bluff.

Now back to the present government, upon resuming office the new government has made things difficult in the country such that petty things have now a luxury. Rice is expensive, everything food, domestic, electronic items have blown the roof.

One would think that the bull run we were expecting this year was actually for our economy in Nigeria because everything is going to the moon in terms of prizes. But salaries and wages remain the same. How does one compete with such?
Yesterday students of auniversity in my country with the name MOUAU went on protest over the increase in school fees amidst the economic hardships.
This shows the states of the nation.

Our naira has gone from ₦900/$ to ₦1300/$
You would go to the market today to price a particular good, come back the next day and find out the price has gone back.

As if this is not enough we are also battling the issue of insecurity in the nation. It is believed that the northerners and radical Muslims are killing Christians in the north. We have also had many kidnapping lately. The country is now longer safe.

Any solution?
Well I am not a professional in the matter to give any advice but one thing I believe will help us is unity. United we stand and divided we fall. If we unite together as a people and throw away our ethnic and religious differences then we can make a headway. We should remember that we were first humans before tribe.
