The Big #Freewrite contest

I went out yesterday which was a Saturday to go and get something to eat after a friend here @vudeme123 sent me ₦1,000 the equivalent of 2.62 steem. On getting to the shop I asked for half a paint of garri(cassava flakes) and she said it was ₦900. I was shocked, three days ago this was gotten for ₦700 and now it is ₦900. What is going on in this country I imagined? In my last freewrite here I made mention of the division in the country, the bad economy, and the hardship we are facing.

The price of things has been competing with Bitcoin, going higher by the day. Now you can not budget what to buy until you reach the market because you could finish making a budget and on reaching the market you'd realise the prices you budgeted for have increased.

People say the reason for this is because our currency is falling against the dollar. So the prices of things have to go high. But I also ask myself, how is garri, a farm produce going high daily when it is not an electronic or imported commodity?

It is very sad because it is us Nigerians that are our enemies. Someone would go to the market and buy things cheaper, come back and because the prices increased they would sell it at the new price to make evil gain but if the price were to reduce they wouldn't budge.

Things are really because surviving is very hard, I mean before I could say that my friend had to send me money then you'd understand it's because I'm broke right? Now imagine how many other people do not have and even the little they have can't get them something tangible. What do you think is going to happen? I see crime taking a whole new shape very soon.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has planned a nationwide protest to let the government know that the citizens are going through hardship.
I don't know what I'd do without Steemit because as I don't have a job and I am still in school it is very difficult to survive. Some nights I wish I would just power down all my earnings but then I keep pushing because of the dream and purpose I joined which is to become a dolphin someday on this platform and contribute to its growth.
