RE: Computer stories #5 - My First computer
You are a practising Christian, as you often write. Wasn't there something about forgiveness in your faith...? I think you've come to terms with your loss over the years and a tough confrontation wouldn't make you any happier...
Yea… I’ve accepted the fact that everything is all gone because I know that even if I confront him, the laptop or my phone won’t come back.
Speaking about forgiveness, I’ve actually forgiven him, But deep down, I’m happy that we’ve not crossed paths all this years because seeing him might stir up some suppressed anger!!
So the concept of forgiveness, in the Christian sense, is rather to be understood in such a way that there is no longer any secret, deeply hidden resentment, but that honestly felt forgiveness has extinguished all negative feelings.
I understand what you are describing very well, I wouldn't feel any differently! That's why I find the predetermined Christian concept somewhat dishonest in this respect. I believe that only very few people are capable of this deep, honest forgiveness...
I apologise if I "misuse" your post for this discussion - I am very interested in such considerations and I thought it was appropriate here ;-))
