"MY CORNER OF THE WORLD"

The above photo is the picture of Kalighat, the Home of the Pure Heart (Nirmal Hriday) in Kolkata. It was home the dying destitute founded by St. Mother Teresa in the year 1952, two years after she established Missionaries of Charity.

Dying people brought to home were given the medical support by the Missionaries of Charity. They were allowed to live with dignity before they die. Muslims were read Koran, Hindus were given ganga holy water and Christian received the last rite according to the faith of dead person. It is believed that 29000 died upto 1992 since the beginning.

"A beautiful death," she said, "is for people who lived like animals to die like angels—loved and wanted."

I as a person born and brought up in Kolkata really feel proud of Missionaries of Charity. And pay my sincere homage to St. Mother Teresa for her unselfish hardwork for the poors of Kolkata.
