Феєрія вечірнього неба/ The extravaganza of the evening sky (Ua/En)

Привіт, друзі.
Вчора був чудовий сонячний день. Майже до вечора трималася досить висока температура, навіть трішки прохолодний вітерець не псував загальне відчуття тепла. Темніти почало на багато пізніше. Це така особливість в Нідерландах, яка викликана не лише переведенням годинників на літній час. Тут в скорому часі почнеться сезон, наближено схожий до так званих «білих ночей». В цей період тут світло до 11 години ночі. Це прекрасно, але трішки збиває з пантелику, адже необхідно звикнути до такого світлового режиму. Насправді я й зараз деколи забуваю, що вечір, адже темніє після 20:30.
Вчора було прекрасне вечірнє небо. Таке відчуття, що північне сяйво на хвильку завітало та розфарбувало хмари у дивовижні кольори ночі. Реально, коли різні відтінки червоного поволі змішуються з блакиттю, це виглядає нереально та феєрично. Неможливо відірвати погляду від цієї краси.

Я знаю, що з точки зору фізики явище червоного неба на заході Сонця досить легко пояснити. Всьому причиною є різна довжина електромагнітних хвиль, які випромінює світило. Проходячи крізь товщу повітря, хвилі розсіюються і колір, який ми бачимо на небі залежить від товщі повітря, кількості пилу чи води в ньому.
Раніше моряки орієнтувалися та складали плани на наступний день, дивлячись на колір неба. Якщо ввечері воно червоне – то можна виходити в море. Якщо вранці хмари зафарбовані в цей колір, то краще залишитися на суші. В Україні говорять, що при червоному небі наступний день буде вітряним , що сповна підходило для повних вітрил.
Ось такі прикмети та орієнтування, які залишили нам предки, ми знаємо до цього часу. І дійсно, сьогодні досить сильний вітер, а отже – мудрість та спостережливість поколінь підтверджується і до нині.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day. The temperature remained quite high until almost evening, and even a slightly cool breeze did not spoil the overall feeling of warmth. It started to get dark much later. This is a peculiarity in the Netherlands that is not only caused by daylight saving time. A season closely resembling the so-called "white nights" will soon begin here. During this period, it is light until 11 o'clock at night. It's great, but a little confusing, because you need to get used to this light regime. In fact, even now I sometimes forget that it's evening, because it gets dark after 8.30pm.
Yesterday was a beautiful evening sky. It felt like the northern lights had come for a moment and painted the clouds in amazing colours of the night. In fact, when different shades of red slowly mix with the blue, it looks unreal and enchanting. It is impossible to take your eyes off this beauty.
I know that from the point of view of physics, the phenomenon of a red sky at sunset is quite easy to explain. The reason is the different lengths of electromagnetic waves emitted by the sun. Passing through the air, the waves are scattered and the colour we see in the sky depends on the thickness of the air, the amount of dust or water in it.
Sailors used to navigate and make plans for the next day by looking at the colour of the sky. If it was red in the evening, it was safe to go to sea. If in the morning the clouds are painted in this colour, it is better to stay on land. In Ukraine, they say that if the sky is red, the next day will be windy, which was perfectly suitable for full sails.
These are the signs and orientations that our ancestors left us, and we still know them today. Indeed, today the wind is quite strong, which means that the wisdom and observation of generations is still confirmed.
