I am going to share Today, a recipe of mash ki daal ( White lentils curry)... not with chicken meat, as we usually do, but I thought, why not share something easy and healthy for a change? Eating lentils has many benefits and it's a very tasty dish. This recipe is simple, easy, and quick to make🌹We call it "Mash Ki daal" in our native Language.

Mash Ki Daal Recipe (White Lentil Curry)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kilo mash ki daal (mung beans)
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili flex (or 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 pinch of asafoetida (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder

Instructions:

. Rinse the lentils ( Mash Ki Dall) and soak them in water for 1 hour. Then, boil them for 15 minutes. Make sure they don't become too soft.

. Heat 1/2 cup of cooking oil in a pot. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn brown.then Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.

. Add the tomatoes and cook until they become soft. You can grind all the ingredients, including onions and tomatoes, if you prefer. then Add all the spices, Cook for a few minutes until the spices are well combined.

. Add the boiled lentils to the spice mixture and stir well. Add 1/2 cup of water and cook on slow heat.
When the oil separates and comes to the surface, turn off the flame. Your tasty mash ki daal is ready!

Note: You can adjust the amount of spices according to your taste preferences.
