RE: "My photo memories" Pt. 11 - Laika
Laika is the most widespread universal hunting dog breed in Russia. As a child, my brother and I went hunting with such a dog for squirrels and other feathered game.
Last weekend, my youngest daughter went to a dog kennel to take care of the dogs there.
She's doing something good! At best, the animals are provided with everything they need - but they can't form a real bond with humans at the shelter. If they are adopted, it is likely to be a challenge in any case; the future owners can be very happy if there are people like your daughter who simply love these animals and socialise them as a result...
Laikas seem to me to be wonderful dogs - in the right environment. You wouldn't be doing them any favours in a big city like Berlin.
I agree. Laika needs nature!
Last year, I also took a dog "into good hands" from a shelter. That's what we call it.
