How are you all?Hope everybody is doing well with the blessings of God.I am also good. Today my blogging topic is "save soil".
On 12th March I went to International Kolkata Book Fair.I saw the campaigning there.There were hundreds of book stalls, hundreds of food stalls, Pop music was being performed there , Baul singing session was held, thousands of people gathered there. Of all the things, I liked this campaign the most. Because this topic is an important topic.So I talked to them and took some photographs of them.
Soil is a combination of minerals , organic matter , air , water and living organisms . We need it to sustain life . But our soils are degrading at an alarming rate . We have taken soil for granted and now one - third of the world's arable soils are degraded . The situation becomes even more urgent when we consider that it can take a thousand years for just one centimetre of topsoil to form . (collected information)
Soil keeps us alive , captures carbon , it serves as a home of bilions organisms and it protects us from floods and droughts but we think it's dirt .
As a result , many of the world's soils are now in crisis . We are losing healthy soil at a very fast rate around the world.
So we should be aware of this right now.
About 95 percent of what we eat comes from the soil.
It is not possible for farmers to produce good food for us without a lot of healthy soil.So if we are not aware, we will not get good food.
In short, we need healthy soil to survive well.What we need to do for a healthy soil is to do and we have to raise more awareness.Because with awareness, people will be able to know the important of this.
Soil is the heart and soul of our planet. So if we want to save the planet, we have to save our soil.
