Hello guys, good to be here again! Today I’d like to share this dope drawing I made recently of a woman in a Yoruba attire. She’s fully adorned with beautiful beads to match.

I started with the head gear as I usually do, establishing some background tones also before moving to the face. This helps to understand the facial tones better.

I worked with pastel chalks and Derwent colored pencils to achieve this, charcoal was very useful also in creating values and depth.

I have to say drawing the beads was quite challenging as I had to focus on the impact of light on each one. That took the biggest chunk of time in the whole piece.
