Portrait Drawing Of A Friend And His Wife - A Christmas Gift

Hi all, here is my new piece of art done with charcoal and graphite pencil. It is a portrait drawing of a very good friend of mine @javalord and his beloved wife. The size of the work is 20 by 24 inches. You can see the finished work on frame below.

I completed this piece a week ago but I was waiting to present the gift to him before sharing it. I'm glad he loves it and his wife even loves it more.

We all know this a season of Christmas, end of the year celebration and sharing of gifts with our loved ones and I wouldn't wanna be left out.

Been a while I wanted to draw him and surprise him with it but a lot of things have hindering and making me skip it. As the end of the year approaches, I told myself I must do it before the year runs out. And I sticked to it, completed and delivered it. Now it has in his home, hanging at his wall.

Initial, I wanted to present it to him yesterday but I wasn't chanced due to my tight schedules. I stay in Jabi and his areas is a bit far from mine.

So we decided it would be today.. unfortunately, his car's tire had an issue so we were unable to meet once again.

Today, I was able to deliver it to him through a friend of his who came around my side.

The first step is to make the outline sketch of my models

Then I started working on his wife; I usually work from left to right

Nose and mouth have been added; her face is almost completed

Here, I have completed her face and cloth

Thereafter, I moved to the man's face and worked on it

The face is completed here

I added his ties and made some final touches

Now the work is completed and ready to be framed
