Nicolò Barella has been highly rated since his humble beginnings of Cagliari. After being quite impressed of his works, Inter Milan signed Barella on a loan in 2019. He performed so well for Inter that year that they bought him the very next season. For both Italy and Inter, Barella is a necessity. The very next season Inter lifted the Scudetto, and Barella was honored as the best midfielder of the 2020/2021 season.

Nicolò Barella is an intelligent mezzala who has world-class passing range, possesses stamina to run or press, helps defensively, can dribble, can break the defence lines or can occasionally score. He also physical advantages for his side. Barella is an intelligent player who dictates the pace of the game making him a driving force from the midfield. He can excel from wider positions too. Barella has a certain touch of elegance to his playe. If he is given freedom to roam, Barella can constantly create danger for the opposition and at the same time, contribute to the defence. And he's also one of Europe's top midfielders when it comes to ball progression.
Barella has been one of the major cogs in both the engines of Inter and Italy. Inter's bid to secure the Scudetto after so long and he has been a vital part of it. So for Italy, he has worked the ball in some important situations and also scored some important goals.
Nicolò Barella is already one of the best midfielders in Europe. We have also seen how Nicolò Barella can handle the pressure of a continental tournament and perform at such a high level.
