ARTWORK TOTORIAL: JUSTICE | WATERCOLOR PAINTING TUTORIAL USING BRUSH PEN

in Beauty of Creativity3 years ago

“Be fair so no one else will be left feeling wronged.”

Greetings Beauty of Creativity! Today, I’ll share to you how I did this watercolor painting entitled “Justice”.

In this tutorial, you will see how the brush pen works so well. This is usually used for calligraphy but I fell in love with it in doing painting because it helps me to blend colors well by just squeezing the pen a little to let the water come out where I don’t need to dip it in a glass of water to wash it. Also, this is a lot of help if you only have one brush. You will also see the difference of the with and without pen for the details.

Materials used:
• watercolor paper
• pencil
• brush pen/paint brush
• water color

STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE

First, draw the subject using pencil.

In drawing portraits, I don’t usually use the right way in making it where you have to draw lines as guide for face and body alignment. I just feel comfortable with this way.

When done, it’s time to paint.

Start it with the face using skin tone shade.

Blend it with light and dark brown for contours. Then little red for blush and lips.

Kindly excuse my hand works. I’m still learning.

After that, start coloring the hair using black water color.

After coloring the black as for hair base color, apply black for the second time but this time you will create fine and wavy lines.

Next, color the clothes. I’m using light brown that is coffee like of shade. To achieve, blend it with little dark brown and black watercolor.

Now, proceed to the other subject (reflection). Apply the same techniques and color. But for this one, I used darker or tough colors.

In contouring, I used dark brown blended with black water color to make it look fiercely.

Then, apply watercolor to the sword and weighing scale which captures the theme for Justice.

I used dark and light blue in this part then added black and white for shadowing and to emphasize this main thing.

Color the weighing scale using yellow and blend it with black watercolor for its shadow blend.

And here is the main part of this tutorial. You will see the difference of having more details using pen.

I don’t have ink pen by the way. So I’m just using the regular school pen.

Now look at the power of using pen in adding details.

After adding pen details, I added this box to frame my subject in this paper I used.

Afterwards, I painted the background with mixture of different shades of green. And I used green because this symbolizes the color of life.

For the other side, I used brown to match its side of darkness.

And here it is! It’s finally done.

I’m falling in love once again with this kind of view which I missed it after 2 years of not doing artworks. I just got into this since I came back posting again here in Steemit (this year). That’s why I’m really above thankful in this blockchain because it drags me to my own world and helps me to grow and learn more.

And of course to complete the artwork, never forget to sign for this is the last procedure!

Thank you so much everyone and I hope you are all doing great today. Hope you like and will support my artwork. I made this artwork as commission for the incidents that happened all around the world these days of hardship as I’ve seen a lot of news from social medias and in television that a lot of people have been harassed or molested. Let’s pray for them to have the justice they needed and they asked for. So everyone, please be kind to others all the time. IT’S FREE! 💌

HAPPY STEEMING!
