Macrophotography Of Asilidae (robber fly)
Hello steemian friends
On this occasion I will share a post about fly-type insects, these insects are very beautiful from the color that is very different from the flies that I usually see. This animal has a dominant color of brown mixed with fine hairs that resemble a white beard, so I am interested in using it in the form of photos.
While looking for an object as usual, I saw this fly-like insect crawling on the leaves of a tree. I immediately took out the macro lens for me to capture this beautiful animal through my smartphone.
With great difficulty and patience I was able to capture it in the form of photos in several different angles. Finally I found out the Latin name of this animal through a google search, and finally I found out this animal is called Asilidae or better known as robber flies.
The Asilidae are the robber fly family, also called assassin flies. They are powerfully built, bristly flies with a short, stout proboscis enclosing the sharp, sucking hypopharynx.Wikipedia
From its aggressive nature, it is not surprising that this insect is nicknamed the robber fly, because it eats other insects by ambushing it silently. This fly has sturdy legs and a strong body so it will not hesitate to prey on other insects such as grasshoppers, dragonflies, butterflies, ants.
Here are some photos that I took on my smartphone
