Our major roads has turned out to be a place for dumping solid waste (refuse), creating unsanitary conditions, and these conditions in turn leads to pollution of the environment and to outbreaks of vector-borne diseases-that is, diseases spread by rodents, insects and dust mites which can cause and contribute to asthma, allergies and other respiratory illness to people within the region. Most times after down pour(rain) people finds it difficult to walk down such path to their homes because of the dirty water gushing out from the dump and the pollution it has cost in the environment.

It increases the level of mosquitoes in the environment as a result bringing illness like MALARIA upon the occupants of this region.
It causes road blocks most times when the dump has taken 2quater of the road

It will be wise if people in all communities can stand up to fight against illegal dumping of refuse by the road side.
Most times people or individuals that does this illegal dumping are always on a lookout to places or environment whereby regulatory authorizers hardly patrol and they just fling or pour their waste and walk away.
Therefore if we all take it upon ourselves as responsibility to report any act of illegal dumping, it can impressively help in curbing this activity.

The State, Local government or Community Leaders can mount notice on these dumping sites indicating NO DUMPING OF REFUSE HERE and indicate a penalty that shall be given to anyone that violates the order, by employing this strategy, societies can become less vulnerable to illegal dumping
