Security comes from the inside

in Beauty of Creativitylast year

Good Day,

Every company has some kind of security from the biggest, most technologically advanced firms to the smallest, most informal business. Security is for everyone, it is about keeping your employees, customers, and others who enter your facility as well as those who are not permitted to do so safely. That’s why it's important that every member of your team understands what security means. If you have more than one employee from receptionists to managers they should all understand why security is important and how they can contribute to making it happen. From a business perspective, security doesn’t only mean the protection of financial information or intellectual property from being stolen or leaked out by people who shouldn’t get access to them. It also means making sure that confidential data and information are protected so that no unauthorized person has access to them.

What is security?

Security is the ability of an organization to deter and prevent threats to its assets and interests. The process of creating a fortress around your company and its assets is highly important. As a business owner, you must understand that security is a two-way street. It’s not a one-way street where you can just order your employees to follow certain security policies, but they won’t necessarily do it. You need to train them to see and protect themselves as targets and they must respond to any suspicious activity in their vicinity. Security is not just about physical facilities. It’s about policies and procedures that keep information secure from the moment you receive it from the outside world to the moment you send it out to the rest of the world.

Imagine your business as a fort.

The best way to understand security is to think about your company as a fortress. The fortress must have a strong, impenetrable foundation to prevent it from being undermined. The walls, gates, and other protective measures must be in place to give it strength and stability. This is similar to your company’s foundation. If your company’s foundation is weak, then the fortress can easily crumble. You must protect your company’s assets and interests with the best security measures possible. This includes hardening your software, applying the latest technologies that prevent breaches, ensuring that all the facilities are secured, and having a proper management structure.

Learn to see and protect yourself as a target

The best way to protect your building and assets is to understand them and then protect them. You can’t just rely on your company’s security measures to keep you and your employees safe because they are only as good as the people who implement them. Everyone has their own way to be safe, and you can’t expect that everyone will be the same. It’s about understanding the differences and then learning to see and protect yourself as a target. You must understand that you are a target just like those who work in your company target. It’s important that you understand that both physical and digital security is important. You can’t rely on just one to keep you safe.
