How To Refocus Your Brain And Transcend Your Challenges

The human brain is an amazing thing with an uncanny ability to adapt and figure out new solutions. The more we are challenged, the more our brain works to adapt and find new solutions. As challenging as our lives can be, there are also plenty of opportunities to practice gratitude and refocus our attention on the positive. Refocusing our attention and refraining from dwelling on the negatives is an important tool in overcoming challenges and maintaining a positive mindset. Here are a few tips to help you refocus your brain and transcend your challenges.

Make a to-do list
A to-do list helps you stay on track and get things done. Whether you write it down or keep it in your head, having a to-do list helps you stay motivated, because you have an outline of what needs to be done.
A to-do list is not a bucket list; it’s a list of realistic things you want to accomplish in your life. It doesn’t matter if you check things off or simply put a big X on the list; what’s important is the fact that you have a list and you have goals.

Stay in the present
When we’re all caught up in the future or the past, it’s easy to forget about the present. The present is, in a way, the only moment in which we have control. We can only control the present moment, and if we stay in the present, we can more easily be happy and less stressed. One way to stay in the present is to do something you enjoy, even if it’s something as simple as taking a walk or cleaning your house.

Remember why you're doing this in the first place
What's the point? Who knows? Why do you fight? Why do you overdo it? Why do you care so much? These aren't questions, but rather statements. They are questions with answers. Thinking about why you do something often reveals a much grander purpose than you thought. You may be eating clean to be healthier or to improve your relationship with food and your body. Reflecting on why you do something can help you see your struggles in a more positive light.

Train your brain with mindfulness
It's easy to focus on the negative aspects of our lives and forget about the positive. With a little mindfulness training, you can transcend your challenges and refocus your attention on what's important. Mindfulness teaches your brain to focus on the present moment and remember why you do things. Mindfulness helps your brain transcend negative thoughts and refocus on why you're pushing yourself despite the challenges. Mindfulness helps your brain overcome obstacles and refocus on the life you want.
