The Green Paddy Leafhopper (Nephotettix Virescens)
As a result of the long drought that has been going on for months, the hot air temperature has increased. I feel like I'm lazy to walk everywhere. The only place I feel comfortable is staying at home with a fan, day and night.
With unfavorable weather conditions, I had to give up hunting for photography as I usually do every afternoon in the hilly area, except on Sunday mornings which have become my weekly agenda.
I'm rather lucky, around my house a lot of bushes are overgrown. Although maybe it's only a little bit inhabited by insects, at least there are photography subjects that I can capture. One of them is the green paddy leafhopper that I found yesterday.
Nephotettix virescens, commonly called the green paddy leafhopper, is a leafhopper of the genus Nephotettix belonging to the family Cicadellidae. Small in size as a paddy grain with a light green color, has two black spots on the wings, and black wingtips. It is one of the insect pests for important crops such as rice which is often found in most parts of Asia.
